The Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Atlanta/Buckhead Area receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its convenient location near attractions and friendly staff. However, a significant portion of feedback highlights concerns regarding dated rooms, maintenance issues like elevator problems and malfunctioning appliances, and noise levels due to its proximity to nightlife. Cleanliness is a recurring concern, as evidenced by reports of soiled linens and unsanitary conditions.
I stayed at Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Atlanta/Buckhead Area on a recent trip to Atlanta. The location was convenient for getting around Buckhead and nearby areas, which made it easy to run errands and explore the neighborhood. The room was simple but clean, with the basics I needed for a comfortable stay. Check-in was quick, and the staff were friendly and helpful when I had a couple of questions. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it worked well for a short stay. I appreciated having a practical, straightforward place to rest without paying for extras I didn’t need.
This hotel is in serious need of a full renovation. From the moment you step inside, everything feels extremely dated from the entrance decor all the way into the guest rooms. The elevator was especially concerning. While riding it, it genuinely feels like it could fail at any moment. You can hear the ropes jerking and straining, which makes for a very uncomfortable experience. The rooms are completely outdated. The televisions are very small around 24 inches even in the suites, and they are not smart TVs. In today’s hospitality standards, that’s unacceptable. The exterior and surrounding environment are also problematic. From the moment you pull into the parking lot, you’re greeted by soda bottles and cans scattered around. The hotel is located next to a club, and the loud music can clearly be heard from inside the rooms. On top of that, club patrons were coming into the hotel, and with the thin walls, you can hear everything including very inappropriate noises from neighboring rooms. Overall, this property needs significant upgrades in both maintenance and overall guest experience. I would not recommend staying here until major improvements are made.
Overall I’d say I had minimal issues with this place. Free water and cookies downstairs. Classy and cozy little living space. The only real issues were the out of order bathroom downstairs and the sketchy elevator. Elevator was pretty slow. And coming down, it felt like it would skip a link in a chain or something. Thought it was going to completely fail altogether ?
Great Area,, Lots of Clubs and places to eat. The manager is super helpful and friendly. The rooms are nice as is the house staff. My only issue is when we moved from 1 room to a free upgraded room, we had a bag of items were missing mostly dirty clothes but also some personal items. We talk to staff and all didnt know. We Are Diamond Wyndham members and got a few free nights here. Again, the staff, especially the manager are friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back but will make sure to keep an eye on our stuff. Oh, the continental breakfast is kinda Sad but their prices are very reasonable so can't complain.
Don’t waste your money here. Our room is was awful. Strawberry stem on the bathroom floor, hair INSIDE my folded towels, same hair in the shower and bathtub, fridge didn’t work, curtains didn’t close all the way, fire alarm went off randomly at like 10:30 at night, breakfast was bad, didn’t have enough staff so you gotta wait forever for anything because there’s only one person, sandwiched between two clubs so loud and busy as hell in the little corner. It was a decent location but they’re are better just spend the extra cash. Trust me.
Room was smaller than I expected for 2 queen beds. I saw advertised that microwaves were in rooms but that was not the case, but there was a community one near the breakfast spot. Location was across from the Pink Pony gentleman's Club but I didn't necessarily feel unsafe. Walls are fairly thin so we moved rooms after our first of 3 nights. Elevator was clanging and ended up out of service by our third night. Our toilet ran non stop and ice machine was only on first floor. I guess I would've expected( for location and amenities) that it would've been a little less expensive than over $100 per night incl. taxes. There was however a pizza hut and small shopping strip that was conveniently close.
Stayed here for 5 days, convenient location, spacious rooms. Genenrally good. Howrever on the con, there no water in the rooms, ones had to buy it, there a club right in fromnt of the htoel, you could hear the loucd music, noisy cars and people shouting till wee hours in the morning; Breakfast is ok, same thing daily, bread, muffins and pan cakes, oats packs and corn flakes ect. proporty is beautiful,
The lady at the front desk was horrible. Unfortunately she didn’t have a badge with her name! When we first arrived, she wasn’t polite at all. I got two rooms reserved, one with two queen beds and the second one with a single queen bed. I told her that, but she said my reservation was for single bed at the two rooms. I had my parents and my daughter with us, and I asked if they could provide me with an additional bed for my daughter, and she said a big fat NO! We went to the room and I found my reservation confirmation, which shown I was correct and I had a two queen bed reserved, I came back to the front desk and asked for the corrected room, she almost threw the correct key to my face. SHE WAS THE WORST THE WHOLE STAY!! We encountered her when entering at the hotel and she almost slammed the door to my daughter’s face. I’m said I don’t know this lady’s name (as she didn’t have a badge to identify her) because I wanted to call the manager and file a formal complaint!
Decent place to sleep. Strip club across the street and bar next door didn’t give you a clean safe feeling. Continental Breakfast was pitiful. Only pancakes for hot food, coffee and only one flavor tea cran apple, juices, 3 cereals, breads yogurt milk. Decor was somewhat updated, appearance of cleanliness.
I was staying for 3 nights for a work trip. When I got in there was a strong musty smell to the room. It was kind of small but I was willing to live with it. After I got back from work and got dinner to my room I noticed my fridge was not working. Asked the gentleman at the desk if it could be addressed. He was quick to offer me another room to check out but that one was 10x worse. There was red/orange staining all over the bed that did not make me feel comfortable staying in so I went back to my room. The hotel was quiet which I am thankful for but the "breakfast" was mid with pancakes, bagels, bread, yogurt and that's it. Coffee was out so was creamer. Just not the best place, will not stay again. Parking lot is small and they claim to prevent others from parking/towing but that's not the case. Lots of questionable people in and out at night.
