The Atlanta Evergreen Lakeside Resort offers a convenient location within Stone Mountain Park, making it a popular choice for families and travelers. Recent reviews indicate a mixed experience, with some guests praising the beautiful lake views and friendly staff, while others express concerns about cleanliness, outdated facilities, and inconsistent service, particularly with housekeeping and elevator maintenance. While some amenities, like the pool, were enjoyable, several issues have been raised regarding room conditions and fees.

It feels this property seems to have gone downhill since it went private. Use to be one of our favorite places to stay. There is a resort fee. Not sure what you get from it; 2 bottles of water in your room, lounge chair at the pool? Seems standard to me. No valet or front door greeter any more. The balcony had a broken chair. It was replaced with two new ones during our stay. A bug crawled down the wall in the coffee shop in the morning. I notified an employee of the cleaning staff and was taken care of immediately. There was a staffed bar downstairs and the restaurant onsite seemed to have a varied dinner menu. However, we did not eat onsite. Elevator button taped back on? Huge empty lobby with one person at the front desk. The room was clean and stocked with enough towels. Maybe it was just an off week but maybe not.

????? Overall, we had a great stay at the Atlanta Evergreen Lakeside Resort and would definitely consider staying again! The location is fantastic;nbeing inside Stone Mountain Park means there's so much to do without ever leaving the property. The restaurants were excellent, the food was delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. The resort itself is beautiful, peaceful, and a wonderful place to relax. The only downside was housekeeping. We stayed for four days and three nights, and our room was never cleaned. We didn't expect daily service, but we did expect at least one cleaning during our stay. Every time we asked, we were redirected to someone else, and while fresh towels were eventually delivered, the room itself was never serviced. So if you want your room cleaned, trash removed, or fresh towels, don't get your hopes up. Hopefully, the resort is able to hire additional housekeeping staff or improve communication between departments because everything else about our stay was wonderful. We'll definitely be back and hope this one area has improved by then!

We had a great overall stay at Evergreen Lake Resort at Stone Mountain and would definitely consider returning. The location is unbeatable—just minutes from Stone Mountain Park and the campgrounds, making it incredibly convenient for families looking to explore everything the area has to offer. This is a very kid-friendly resort, and the pool was a huge highlight for our family. It was spacious, fun, and perfect for cooling off after a day in the park. That said, the pool could definitely use more frequent cleaning to match the otherwise beautiful setting. The housekeeping staff deserves special recognition. They were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and kept our room spotless throughout our stay. In contrast, the front desk staff could be a bit warmer and more helpful. Check-in was smooth, but customer service felt less welcoming than expected. One disappointment was that none of the electric vehicle chargers were working during our visit, which was frustrating and something I hope management addresses soon. Also, families should know that none of the resort’s restaurants serve pizza, which seems like a missed opportunity for a destination catering to so many kids. Overall, this is a beautiful property in a fantastic location with plenty of family-friendly amenities. With a little more attention to maintenance, improved EV charging, and friendlier front desk service, it could easily be a five-star experience.

Great location in the park, convenient to all. Place is going through some changes from no longer being a Mariott property. Rooms are extremely clean and refreshed. The hallways were not clean, stairwell needed cleaning, stairs near pool falling apart, at least 1 of the elevators was not working, elevator floor buttons missing, definitely not enough staff (but friendly), and pool was clean and kept up. Only one person working in the Tavern restaurant who had to run upstairs to get our food order from the Waterside restaurant (which made our food cold). Overall the place is run down and needs investment to bring back up to where it should be. However, it is so very conveniently located in the park close to the mountain, attractions etc. Despite the issues, I recommend.

Everything went well for my 1 night stay. My granddaughter loved the game room. Not sure who the gentleman was ion duty Saturday night as Security, etc around the game room area but he offered to give us quarters thinking we did not have cash. My 10 year old thought he was so nice to offer!

I enjoyed my stay, but there were some minor issues. It could be updated in some areas or at least given some extra attention. But, it was a lovely place to visit. The location was magnificent. The view from the lakeside room and balcony were beautiful. Room service was a challenge, but I was able to find and grab what we needed. But I will say, the shuttle driver was GREAT!!! I enjoyed my meals at both restaurants.

Typically, I am not someone who writes reviews, however, our stay at the Evergreen Resort was less than par. My family and I stayed at this hotel the beginning of June for two nights. My parents wanted to stay in Stone Mountain as it’s always had a special place in their hearts, and used to stay at The Inn at Stone Mountain. We have never stayed at this resort before and arrived around 3:30pm on a Friday. Upon arriving, there were so many cars piled up at the entrance, and when looking inside, there were several long lines at the check in. My father waited in line to check us in for nearly 45 minutes. By the time we got into our room, it was after 4:30. Check in was at 4:00. Our rooms should have been ready. However, there were no amenities or towels in the room. Luckily, we saw a woman in the hall and asked for towels. We quickly dropped our bags and did not take a good look around when we returned back later that evening. The room/beds were clean. Unfortunately, we noticed the toilet ran and sink bubbled, there was coffee, but no coffee cups, only one trash can in the bathroom, the mini fridge was semi-cold, and when we showered, we were standing in roughly 2 inches of water and was out of shower gel in the bottom. Good thing we packed our own soap and shampoo. It was clear to us that the room was not fully ready. The next morning, we asked for someone to send amenities to our room, however, no one showed up. My family, and other hotel guests had to take the stairs numerous times because one of the elevator buttons to our floor, did not work. We chose to not have breakfast there because it was an additional $30 per person (we recommend Huskers which is nearby). Throughout our time there, a family reunion of 200 (we confirmed with a family member) were around the hotel. To give the staff members the benefit of the doubt, maybe their time was spent helping other guests and their needs. However, when a hotel is labeled as “Resort”, you expect a higher standard, especially for the price you pay. This review is not to complain but to give our experience, as we are blessed to have stayed in the park and on a pretty property. But, it’s clear there needs to be work done here at the Evergreen.

The resort is absolutely beautiful. The area was perfect. Great location. The balcony and shower weren’t the cleanest. I called twice to have the spider webs cleaned on the balcony but no one ever came. I purchased a balcony room to be able to sit on it and enjoy the lakeview. The hotel was in a transformation process so one of the restaurants were closed on Saturday including the pool table and the menus were limited. We came on a rainy weekend so that didn’t help. However, we’d definitely come again.

I really enjoyed my spa like stay. It was a staycation. My lake view room was very comfortable, clean and modern. Service was great. They are friendly and professional and make sure you have everything you need for a great stay. Stone Mountain is absolutely beautiful and it’s right at my back door. I will definitely stay again.

I have stayed at this resort numerous times for Conferences and Personal. I cannot say enough about the STAFF. The friendliest, most helpful people. One of the young men remembered me from last May when I was there for a conference (he helped me hang command strips) - and he was just as friendly and helpful this year as last. Recommend 10 out of 10
