Guests consistently report significant issues with the Peachtree Hotel Midtown Atlanta by Marriott, including room cleanliness, outdated facilities, and unreliable service. Many experiences involved extended wait times for check-in, unresolved maintenance issues like broken AC and leaky plumbing, and a lack of responsiveness from hotel staff. Frequent complaints about inaccurate billing and misleading information regarding the hotel's affiliation with Crowne Plaza are also prevalent. Several reviews suggest a general decline in property standards compared to previous stays.
This was my actual experience on 5/21-5/22. ? DO NOT BOOK THE "CROWNE PLAZA ATLANTA MIDTOWN" — This is a deceptive, unsafe mess. ? I booked om Trivago and my confirmation clearly showed as the Crowne Plaza Midtown Atlanta by IHG for 4 night trip with my wife and 10-month-old daughter. What I actually got was a complete disaster that should be a warning to every traveler. What happened: Checked in around 9:45pm with my printed reservation and was given a suite… with a broken AC. No big deal — I went back downstairs for a new room (2212 on the 24th floor). That one had no working kitchen lights and a balcony door that could be pushed open from the outside. Serious safety hazard with a baby. Third room switch: Finally “usable,” but it smelled strongly of latex and heavy cleaning chemicals. It was after 10:30pm, my baby was screaming, and I was done moving. We stayed. The elevator rides were their own special hell — constant stops on every floor because apparently only 1 or 2 ice machines work in the entire 25-floor building. People were riding up and down just hunting for ice. By my 4th trip to the front desk (near midnight), the lobby was chaos. I saw maybe 2 people checking in and line our the door of guests filing complaints. Security looked terrified. Staff was clearly doing their best but completely overwhelmed. This is 100% a management failure. I had to call IHG, this is out of hand. That’s when I learned the truth: This hotel is no longer part of IHG or Crowne Plaza. It was sold and became the Peachtree Hotel Midtown Atlanta (Marriott) on January 2, 2026. Yet it’s still being advertised and booked as a Crowne Plaza on Google, Trivago, and other sites months later. Next morning they “comp’d” breakfast for all the issues… except it closed at 9:30am, not 11am like their website claimed. Staff told me to check the Marriot site and not crown plaza. The next morning my wife found a large, life-like adult toy under a rolling ottoman that our baby had been pushing around. Thank God she saw it before our daughter did. I work from home and I had a few meeting that morning, so I couldnt just leaving. I finally got a break in my morning from work and Called Marriott directly, and was shocked by how little they cared. They offered to move me to another hotel at my expense and wouldn’t refund me. Essentially I had to eat the cost of the 4 nights, because it was a 3rd-party booking. I checked out immediately, explained everything (including showing the photo), and the desk was stunned I was leaving early. I re-booked elsewhere and finished my vacation. This property has serious maintenance problems, endangers guests (including infants), and is still falsely operating under the Crowne Plaza name on major booking platforms. Avoid this place entirely. I have stayed at this hotel several times through the past 4 years. This most recent time (22nd of May -23rd) was the most disturbing and disgraceful scenery and treatment. It begins by me arriving and having two separate reservations cancelled randomly (when I have NEVER had a reservation abruptly cancelled). I was told that it was due to them using only "certain" third party companies to supply the reservations but if all vendors provide the hotel clientele, then service must be delivered (and I was told to stop being cheap by a front desk clerk, I believe her name is Felicia). Not only that, I waited at least an hour to be provided a room and once I got to the room, it still had the other person's belongings still in there, which I later found out that they gave me an occupied suite. Like seriously?! I was patient and remained calm about the situation but the fire alarm sounded as I was heading back down and we had to evacuate (room maintenance person and myself). The occurrence was extremely inconvenient, disgraceful and horrific that I observed a customer exploding on the front desk manager/MOD (Preston is his name). I shared the same sentiments as the lady sharing her dismays as she vehemently requested her money back because she said that she had to run down 8 flights of stairs with her belongings, and I felt her angst about that! Preston is extremely condescending, lackadaisical and does NOT exude a presence of a hotel manager and that is coming from a security officer that has secured 5 star hotels! God bless y'all and be weary of spending your money here.
This is now called the Peachtree hotel. It was a bit weird because it was a Crowne Plaza a year ago that they are rebranding with Marriot but it seems like they don't know what branding to use. I got my room for an amazing rate and didn't expect much. For $100 it was amazing as it still had a lot of the amenities of a higher end hotel. The staff was friendly and fantastic and they accommodate our early checkin and late check out requests with a smile. I will stay here again if the price is good and would recommend it even if it has some rough edges that need to be worked out as they rebrand.
There was no water or AC! Could not shower or use the toilet. Only because I asked did they give me some bottled water to brush my teeth. Only because I asked they helped me find another place to stay. The conference I was at was sweltering and a couple of times I got really dizzy from being overheated. Staff did not seem to care. They would listen to a request and call a manager on the cell phone but the manager never came out or dealt with anything. the worst part is that the front desk never picks up the phone. Not if you call from inside the hotel or on your cell phone from outside of it. **** Even though I left after one night and they assured me that I would not be charged, they charged me for 4 nights! I have called 16 times and no one will answer the phone. I'm posting this review hoping that someone will get a hold of me and reverse that charge!
First off, it's not the Crowne Plaza Midtown any longer. I believe it was recently sold to another hotel investment group. It looks as though they came in and did some painting and slight decor changes but I wouldn't call all of them "improvements". If anything the hotel has a worn, almost tired, and definitely cheaper look and feel about it. If u plan on eating here, make sure you do so before midnight because after that there is only "The Market" left open and it's selection is, well let's just say, basic unless you love Sun Chips because im pretty sure they have every flavor! Besides the vast selection of SunChips and of course overpriced sodas (but that's all hotels now), there just isn't much 'real' food so eat before midnight or use Uber Eats, Door Dash, etc.
I went to Atlanta valentines weekend and booked a room here. The room was perfect no problem at all however when it comes to service and you asking a worker at the front desk a question no one can give me an answer. I ordered DoorDash and when I went down to get it, it was gone. I ask the young lady named Zee have my DoorDash came she stated that “Someone took it and she THOUGHT it was theirs”. I asked her for her first and last name she stated “ WHAT DO YOU NEED MY NAME FOR”. so I said okay. The next day I asked the young lady for the girls name that worked night shift she gave me her nickname. Also she told me to tell DoorDash that my order never came when it actually did. Also a young man came down and said he had blood on his bed pillow when he checked in his room. This place reminds me of a one stop place. I called this morning and afternoon no one can get me to the manager. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone that cares about how they are treated.
Rarely do you come across an individual like Tia in the hospitality industry. My family and I just stayed there for Cheer Sport. The bartender Tia made sure they were open serving guest at 5:30am Saturday morning with a smile on her face. To my surprise Tia was also there at 11:45pm Sunday night. Same smile. Same amazing service. She took pride in making sure that the guests were not only taken care of but also happy. Tia is the kind of employee that makes people chose to return your establishment. Best bartender/brand ambassador you can ask for.
Our stay did not meet basic hospitality standards. During our visit There was no Wi-Fi available for the duration of our stay. Room service was unavailable. Breakfast was advertised from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., yet when we arrived at approximately 9:00 a.m., service was already closing and only limited items were available. The room phone did not work, preventing us from contacting housekeeping. Despite requesting towels in person at the front desk, they were never delivered, requiring a second trip to obtain them ourselves. We were informed there was no housekeeping service at all. Our room was never cleaned, and trash from two nights and one full day remained in the room for our entire stay, creating an unsanitary and extremely unpleasant environment especially while traveling with children. Given these issues, the accommodations and services provided were not what we paid for, nor what is reasonably expected from a hotel under a major hospitality brand. I have tried to contact someone I have had no luck ! The phone provided on the website are not accurate. I’ve been told that this hotel is no longer with IHG. this is unacceptable and unprofessional!
My coworkers and I stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms are fair. However, we experienced impeccable service from Tia Toombs, who took care of us each night at their lobby restaurant. The weather was bitter cold during our stay, so we opted to remain at the hotel each night for dinner. Tia made us feel at home and by the end of the 3 nights, we felt she was a friend. She deserves accolades from Crowne Plaza. You are truly lucky to have her as your employee!
Our stay was extremely disappointing. The air conditioning in our room did not work at all, making the room uncomfortable and almost unbearable. Despite notifying staff, the issue was never properly resolved. Even worse, do not use the valet service. There is a serious risk of your vehicle being damaged, and if it happens, the staff will not take responsibility. That alone is enough to make me never return. Between the broken AC and the lack of accountability from staff, this hotel does not meet basic expectations. I would not recommend staying here.
