The hotel struggles to keep up with maintenance requests and housekeeping standards, leading to frequent complaints about dirty rooms and unresponsive staff. Positive service moments, specifically provided by a few employees, are severely overshadowed by billing errors and unresolved plumbing or water issues.
There was no water or AC! Could not shower or use the toilet. Only because I asked did they give me some bottled water to brush my teeth. Only because I asked they helped me find another place to stay. The conference I was at was sweltering and a couple of times I got really dizzy from being overheated. Staff did not seem to care. They would listen to a request and call a manager on the cell phone but the manager never came out or dealt with anything. the worst part is that the front desk never picks up the phone. Not if you call from inside the hotel or on your cell phone from outside of it. **** Even though I left after one night and they assured me that I would not be charged, they charged me for 4 nights! I have called 16 times and no one will answer the phone. I'm posting this review hoping that someone will get a hold of me and reverse that charge!
First off, it's not the Crowne Plaza Midtown any longer. I believe it was recently sold to another hotel investment group. It looks as though they came in and did some painting and slight decor changes but I wouldn't call all of them "improvements". If anything the hotel has a worn, almost tired, and definitely cheaper look and feel about it. If u plan on eating here, make sure you do so before midnight because after that there is only "The Market" left open and it's selection is, well let's just say, basic unless you love Sun Chips because im pretty sure they have every flavor! Besides the vast selection of SunChips and of course overpriced sodas (but that's all hotels now), there just isn't much 'real' food so eat before midnight or use Uber Eats, Door Dash, etc.
I went to Atlanta valentines weekend and booked a room here. The room was perfect no problem at all however when it comes to service and you asking a worker at the front desk a question no one can give me an answer. I ordered DoorDash and when I went down to get it, it was gone. I ask the young lady named Zee have my DoorDash came she stated that “Someone took it and she THOUGHT it was theirs”. I asked her for her first and last name she stated “ WHAT DO YOU NEED MY NAME FOR”. so I said okay. The next day I asked the young lady for the girls name that worked night shift she gave me her nickname. Also she told me to tell DoorDash that my order never came when it actually did. Also a young man came down and said he had blood on his bed pillow when he checked in his room. This place reminds me of a one stop place. I called this morning and afternoon no one can get me to the manager. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone that cares about how they are treated.
Rarely do you come across an individual like Tia in the hospitality industry. My family and I just stayed there for Cheer Sport. The bartender Tia made sure they were open serving guest at 5:30am Saturday morning with a smile on her face. To my surprise Tia was also there at 11:45pm Sunday night. Same smile. Same amazing service. She took pride in making sure that the guests were not only taken care of but also happy. Tia is the kind of employee that makes people chose to return your establishment. Best bartender/brand ambassador you can ask for.
Our stay did not meet basic hospitality standards. During our visit There was no Wi-Fi available for the duration of our stay. Room service was unavailable. Breakfast was advertised from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., yet when we arrived at approximately 9:00 a.m., service was already closing and only limited items were available. The room phone did not work, preventing us from contacting housekeeping. Despite requesting towels in person at the front desk, they were never delivered, requiring a second trip to obtain them ourselves. We were informed there was no housekeeping service at all. Our room was never cleaned, and trash from two nights and one full day remained in the room for our entire stay, creating an unsanitary and extremely unpleasant environment especially while traveling with children. Given these issues, the accommodations and services provided were not what we paid for, nor what is reasonably expected from a hotel under a major hospitality brand. I have tried to contact someone I have had no luck ! The phone provided on the website are not accurate. I’ve been told that this hotel is no longer with IHG. this is unacceptable and unprofessional!
My coworkers and I stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms are fair. However, we experienced impeccable service from Tia Toombs, who took care of us each night at their lobby restaurant. The weather was bitter cold during our stay, so we opted to remain at the hotel each night for dinner. Tia made us feel at home and by the end of the 3 nights, we felt she was a friend. She deserves accolades from Crowne Plaza. You are truly lucky to have her as your employee!
Our stay was extremely disappointing. The air conditioning in our room did not work at all, making the room uncomfortable and almost unbearable. Despite notifying staff, the issue was never properly resolved. Even worse, do not use the valet service. There is a serious risk of your vehicle being damaged, and if it happens, the staff will not take responsibility. That alone is enough to make me never return. Between the broken AC and the lack of accountability from staff, this hotel does not meet basic expectations. I would not recommend staying here.
Although front desk and Valet were kind and helpful during the beginning of our stay, the rooms quality was lacking, the service and communication were poor as well. They charged me my room rate and security upon check in, but experienced payment issues that caused the charge to not actually be processed despite appearing on my card statement. Imagine I'm in my hotel room for the 3 nights I booked, and they send security (without calling first) at 11pm at night to let us know there's a guest issue. We called front desk to verify because we thought the person was a safety threat, thinking someone is randomly at our door. They explained that they sent security, without any warning or call to our room first, to address the fact that they charged me for one night's stay and claimed that I was not booked for the 3 nights that I had secured. I forwarded my reservation email confirming my full stay and confirmed receipt of my initial payment, to which they mentioned the payment issue afterwards. They asked me to come down to the lobby to pay for the additional nights (at this point it was 12 a.m. and our flight home boards at 6:50 a.m.) so I declined coming downstairs because of needing to rest. Management team completely dropped the ball on their end, they suggested their Supervisor who goes by the name of Antonio Kennedy, would email me but another associate, Ramona Rousell, emailed me and was not clear that they'd be attempting to charge me again after my stay, they stated that they were having payment process issues and would let me know when it would resolved (they didn't). I left on December 21st, they charged me again on December 24th without ANY notification via email that they were going to, although it seemed like common sense that they'd communicate that to me so I had already been engaging in communication via email and they had collected my phone number. This was amongst another security issue I experienced that I communicated to Ramona. On Friday night, coming back from a late dinner, my mother and I witnessed several children (hopefully around 18 but could not be sure) "soliciting" sexual acts in the hotel lobbies bathroom. I have no idea if they were guests of the hotel, but this is a very serious and disturbing concern. There was no security around to report this issue, so I made sure to address it with the management team amongst their contact of the payment issue. All in All this was a terrible experience, I would have never booked this hotel if I knew it would be so outdated in the first place, but I surely would never stay at this hotel property again.
I do not plan on returning to this hotel.. the heat was not working and it’s December. It remained on 65 degrees my entire 5 day stay! The cleanliness was not good at all! There were no trash cans in the room to even try to keep the room clean myself. I will note that valet service was very kind and helpful! The location is good because it’s downtown but this hotel needs to do better with being clean. And start thinking about having microwaves in each room. My key card worked on and off I was just over it after a while.
STAY AWAY!! I travel often for work and for fun, and this has truly been one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Throughout our entire stay they never cleaned our room once. We spoke to the front desk on two different occasions and were told it would be taken care of, yet nothing changed. We reached out to IHG customer service by the end of the third night because it was still not resolved, and they notified hotel management. Still no response. No follow up. No cleaning. On the fourth night we had to raise the issue yet again because absolutely nothing had been addressed. The bare minimum is to have soap, trash removed, and clean towels. Instead we were given one tiny bar of soap to somehow use for both showering and washing hands for two people across four nights. We had to go buy our own basic toiletries. The trash piled up, towels remained dirty, and the room was left in the same state the entire stay. To spend this kind of money and be treated like our concerns did not matter at all was beyond frustrating. There was zero accountability and zero effort to fix the problem. The staff offered empty promises and provided no service whatsoever. I would never stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
