Got delayed with Delta and stayed overnight at the Sonesta. The rooms are clean, comfortable & quiet. We had the pleasure of meeting the GM Heidi as we were checking out. Heidi went out of her way to help us get back to the airport. She is a very personable and helpful asset to the hotel. Great place to stay.

THE person that MADE this stay for us was the receptionist Barbara C. She was so outgoing, friendly, pleasant, warm, kind and helpful. She immediately made us feel welcomed. The gentlemen that met us when we pulled up in our car was extremely helpful as well. The room was great. No problems whatsoever. This is a perfect place to stay prior to catching a flight. Now! Off to Iceland.

Edit: Downgrading to 1 star for safety. The power went out this morning, so I didn't want to use the elevator. Unfortunately for me, the door from the stairs to the lobby was locked, forcing me to go outside into the parking lot just to get down to the lobby. Then I find out that they intentionally lock the lobby door to the stairs, and won't let you go back up to your room except through the elevator. I'm not sure how that's in any way legal, it feels like a massive fire hazard. I will not be staying at this hotel or any of it's associated hotels in the future. Avoid at all costs. I'm writing this review as I wait at the empty front desk for someone to come give me a new set of keys for the third time today because our lock messed up. I've been waiting for about 20 minutes, and so far it doesn't look like anyone's showing up any time soon. So let's see if I can finish this review before I get service. The lobby is nice, but the rest is substandard. The hallways are musty and smell, the bathrooms have no extractor fans, the toilet paper is the cheapest worst kind possible, the lobby bathrooms are freezing and have no hot water, Service is inconsistent. The restaurant staff are all very nice and helpful, but the rest of this experience is severely underwhelming.

Room 1107 is hidden behind the elevators. Nice and quiet; however, there isn't any hot water in the shower (but available in the sink). Sadly, I didn't know of it until the morning I wanted to shower before checking out. The front desk was not apologetic nor did they try to offer any service recovery. I was hoping to be well prepared and well groomed for a job interview in the area; but all I encountered was an ice-bucket challenge in the end of January during the storm of the decade. And BTW, the executive lounge on the 11th floor is not stocked at all. Only available water bottles and coffee machines.

Staff was friendly. Overall state of the hotel was a bit tired. Stains on furniture, bit of a stuffy/funky smell in the hallways and rooms, with a layer of fragrance over the top trying to cover it up. Beds were very comfortable, bedding clean, and bathroom had been recently updated. Main part of the room itself was definitely ‘used’. Wear and tear and carpet / upholstery stains. TV did not work (no signal on any of the inputs), and ice machine on our floor was removed (Just a remaining hole in the floor on L7). Fridge was working, coffee maker worked. Mixed experience overall. Would opt for elsewhere next time.

Rude staff all around, unbelievable experience. Flew in with a connection through Atlanta. My Atlanta to Vegas flight was canceled/postponed 24 hours, airline booked me at night stay at Sonesta North. Horrible experience before even arriving on premises. Waited for their shuttle van for 55 minutes, 25 min past the 30 min scheduled time. I called in, the woman was rude as ever on the phone, telling me someone would be there soon, and is there anything else she can help me with. Upon finally arriving and checking-in, I was told that their door key machine was not working, someone had to let me in my room each time I needed to get back in. Went to explore for a bit, came back to my room late evening, and was told that maintenance is gone for the night and he was the only one with a master key. Front desk agent explained to me she was brand new to the property and manager had not granted her master key privileges yet. Only option I was given was to be “upgraded” to a top floor room (this floor keying functions were working), and was told that maintenance would be back in the morning to let me back in the original room where all my belongings are. Learning the top floor was working all along and they could have “upgraded” me all along infuriated me. Upgraded is in quotations marks, because there was no upgrade in sight. New flight was not until 5pm, I asked the front desk agent if I could at least have a late check out for all of the inconveniences endured, she said yes and would let the manager Barbara know. I called down to front desk in morning just to confirm and be on the safe side before going to check out a couple of attractions, the front desk agent let me know that I should have never been promised that, and that Barbara would not be able to grant the extended check out. Can’t make this up. I don’t know how many Sonesta properties there are in the world, but I 100% undoubtedly will never set foot in one again.

Convenient to airport. Staff is helpful and friendly. But our room sucked. Heat was broken. Picked up phone to call front desk. Phone also broken. Had to go back downstairs. They sent maintenance to fix the heat, it broke again in the middle of the night. They did offer a different room but then our 2 rooms would not be on the same floor, so I risked it and it failed. The room was probably 63 degrees or so. The next morning went to make coffee and the Keurig machine spewed a bunch of hot water all over, I know how to use it, the thing was just broken. Bathroom door didn't close properly. Buffet breakfast is a total scam, $24 and poor quality, definitely skip that if possible. The rooms would actually be pretty good quality if it had been properly maintained. Bathroom was fine. Overall it could be worse for a hotel I ended up at due to cancelled flight with a voucher. The other voucher choices were probably not great either.

Walked up to the desk to check in…no one there. A lady that clearly didn’t work at the front desk peeped out the side office I’m assuming and asked, “You need something?” I paused for a moment, then replied, “Yes, to check in.” I was already irritated walking through the parking lot loaded with the awful weed smell. Then, I entered the front door where there’s a sitting area for Valer service. Some man was laying across the bench with a fifth of liquor of some sort like he lives here. No one said anything to him. Guess it’s allowed. This place has truly gone to hell since they changed ownership. When I got off the elevator on my floor, the smell was horrible. It smelled old and stuffy. Thankfully the room didn’t smell like that. Definitely won’t be returning. Customer service can make or break a business. Update: Checkout saved the day. Thank you to Shonda at the front desk… checked me out. She greeted me with a beautiful friendly smile and all uphill from that point on. Shonda is an exemplar of what every business needs representing its business. Kudos to Shonda! Still not changing my stars because black aints were in my room. Shonda was so amazing I forgot to mention it to her.

WE had to come to the Sonesta because the whole plane apparently missed the connecting flight. The line was extremely long and everyone was tired due to a more than 3 hour delay before we even got to the layover point. Needless to say Moe, the front desk professional was literally the most efficient check-in person i've ever met! Before arriving I called the hotel to ask them questions about transportation unbeknownst to me that Moses was working like he had the hands of an octopus, the patience of a saint, and the efficiency of a computer. Not to mention he was so friendly and had a beautiful smile that greeted every disgruntled traveler and changing their demeanor almost instantly. Moses calmly suggested dinner at the restaurant which became full quickly. The food was DELICIOUS...but the bartender had major attitude problems. Had it not been for Moses and the kitchen cooks she would not have gotten a tip from me at all. I certainly would think twice about going to the restaurant again if the bad attitude bartender is there. Excellent hire with Moses! although this happened about a month or so ago...I've been meaning to write this review for a while now. Keep of the good work Moe/Moses and the leadership who was smart enough to hire him!

My room was very clean but also VERY outdated Bathroom, microwave, and fridge were SPOTLESS $50 a night incidental fee that’s charged upon checkin I’ve never seen this kind of smoke alarm before and it’s from the 70s and only was supposed to be up for 10 years, and who still has popcorn ceilings? Some of the wall paper material was peeling, bathroom has no ventilation, the shower curtain is a cloth type, has strings strangling and touches inside the tub. I’m pretty sure there is lead paint (peeling) from the ceiling. The tv stand has a bunch of water damage on top and is bumpy, some of the carpet has hard stains. With all that said, I would likely come again for my stay wasn’t terrible, and there’s a Waffle House, McDonalds, Starbucks and a shopping plaza in a very short walking distance-just update the rooms.
