Twelve Downtown, Autograph Collection receives generally positive reviews, highlighting excellent customer service, spacious rooms, and a convenient downtown location. However, recurring concerns regarding cleanliness, inconsistent service, and issues with amenities like ice machines and hot water have been repeatedly reported. Recent reviews have brought to light potential corruption within the hotel's booking system and concerning staff behavior.
Excellent customer service from start to finish. My guest was very impressed with the food, and the bartender was outstanding attentive, friendly, and on point all evening. The rooms were excellent and did not disappoint at all. One of the best features was the balcony you can actually access and enjoy it, which made the stay even better. I will definitely be returning!
We've stayed at the Twelve for years for Dragoncon. We've always overlooked the broken toilet, or ice maker not working, or TV that's horribly discolored because it's a good value for the weekend. This year the hotel sold out before it went on sale because we were told that someone is friends with the booking manager who gave out the code before the sale and if you aren't a part of their group you can't stay there anymore. I'm sorry that's wrong. The hotel was always fine. Not great, certainly not 4 stars, but fine for the value and ability to have a kitchen. Now we are at "unless you are personal friends with the hotel you can't stay" and that's so wrong. Staff there is great. Location is fine. Overall fine, but now we've hit corruption levels that are unacceptable.
I was really impressed with this hotel. Especially for the price. I have stayed in high end rooms that cost more than twice as much and have less amenities and space in the rooms. We grabbed this one just because we needed to be at the hospital early in the morning and it was close. I was blown away walking into the lobby and then the room. So nice. Will be going back to stay and enjoy the place soon.
The one bedroom king suite isnt an actual separate bedroom. The wall goes halfway up and there isn’t a door. Comes with a full kitchen. They didn’t accommodate our upgrade request which I kinda figured since it was new years even though I booked weeks in advance. The staff were friendly and always helpful. The room was clean upon arrival. Our only issue we encountered was the shower hot water. The shower went cold after 10min and never went back warm. Not even the sink water was warm. The breakfast comes from restaurant and they charge you a fee to bring it to the room. Overall decent hotel and stay but definitely better hotels for same price range. Also Valet parking only!!
The room was filthy and not cleaned when checked in, the floors was nasty had dirt and trash still on them, the ice maker didn’t work, the windows was nasty with previous people hand prints, dust all over kitchen cabinets, and plumbing didn’t work properly. There was no Valet available so had to pay to park somewhere else and walk there with our luggage in the cold weather. And yes the staff was notified! For the amount paid we should have at least on a minimum should have been presented with a clean room. If I wanted to stay at Motel 6, I would have booked a motel 6.
Where do I begin? When we arrived someone was shouting and honking at us at the valet to move our vehicle immediately after we stopped and were waiting for an available valet. There is no option to self-park but valet takes time and they are not always present. This is supposed to be a 4-star hotel, and felt immediately like a 2 star due to the cleanliness and lack of service. No one offered to take our bags. The entrance was dirty, dark and uninviting. The front desk lady was friendly, but let us know that our room was not available for the night. We have four children, so none of the available options were ideal for us and we had no choice but to book two rooms. They did not inform us that it would be an additional charge due to no fault of our own. I was later able to have the rooms discounted, however, it still exceeded the amount of the suite we had booked. The rooms were not clean and they were dark. The door to the balcony was unable to be locked, which was scary because I had to choose to stay separate from my husband with my children, or both of us separate from our children. There was damage to the art in the room, exposing nails which is hazardous as well. Now it was time to sleep. Saying that it was loud does not cover it. It was like being outside. No sound proofing at all. Sirens and traffic blaring all not. The ear plugs provided should have been a clue. I did not sleep at all and my children barely slept. We canceled our second night and stayed somewhere else. When asked as we checked out how it was, my husband said “terrible” and aside from “I’m sorry,” no one inquired about the issues and I had zero energy to detail my disappointment. This was our first time visiting Atlanta and we had an amazing day planned and my husband and I were completely exhausted throughout it. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was serious and needs to be shared, especially for anyone with food allergies. During my stay at Twelve Downtown Atlanta, I dined at the in-house restaurant on my first night. I ordered a steak with asparagus and mashed potatoes, as listed on the menu. What I was served instead was a steak that had been dipped in gravy containing mushrooms, along with broccoli and mashed potatoes. Mushrooms were not listed anywhere on the menu, and I was not informed of this substitution. I am allergic to mushrooms. Unfortunately, I did not discover the mushroom gravy until after I had already eaten part of the meal. When I brought this to the waitress’s attention, I was told the chef added the gravy because they did not have A1 sauce. The fact that an undisclosed ingredient, and a common allergen, was added without any warning is extremely concerning. As a result, I became very sick, experiencing ongoing vomiting and diarrhea that confined me to my hotel room for days. I was forced to extend my stay because I could not safely make a multi-hour drive home while ill. What made this situation even more upsetting was the response from the hotel. When I informed the front desk, I was told that nothing could be done because I “should not have eaten it,” despite the fact that the allergen was undisclosed and not listed on the menu. This response lacked empathy and accountability and showed a concerning misunderstanding of food safety and allergy responsibility. This is an Autograph Collection property under Marriott Bonvoy, and I expected a much higher standard of care, particularly when it comes to guest safety and how illness is handled. Food allergies are not a preference; they are a health issue, and guests cannot protect themselves from ingredients they are never told are present. I have escalated this matter to Marriott corporate because of the seriousness of the situation. I strongly urge hotel management to review their food service practices, allergen disclosure procedures, and staff training so that no other guest experiences what I did. This situation was avoidable, and I hope meaningful changes are made.
Went to stay overnight room was okay the sofa bed had stains under and on it and didn’t have any blankets for it. The kitchen didn’t have pans or any real utensils. As soon as we went to check out the woman who was in the front at 10:38 had no idea what she was doing was trying to charge us twice and then was talking to me and my group as if we couldn’t understand math. Ask for manager she kept saying no. And giving us attitude long story short got manager and they solved it and said we paid and there was nothing else needed despite what the woman said. She never apologized instead blamed women who helped us at check in. Definitely say other ppl having issues at check in so definitely need to train better or get someone else to check out. Don’t think we will travel back to this hotel.
I stayed here to celebrate my birthday over the weekend & did a staycation. JeMarcus at the front desk was really nice & helpful with check in as well as his side kick. I don't remember her name unfortunately but the staff were really great & pleasant. The hotel was clean, the lobby area was pretty spacious, the bartender was nice. Cemoney was our waiter at the Catch restaurant inside the hotel. He knew the menu, gave us recommendations on dishes to try. He was a great waiter! The food came out in a timely manner, everything was great! & The whole staff had great customer service & were very professional. Plus they all wished me a happy birthday at different times during the day made my day! I will definitely come back again!
I had the most horrible experience here and the white lady at the desk was very racist. I booked my daughter sweet 16 birthday at the hotel for me and my family (meaning household family for one night) and upon arrival, she told me I needed a card to hold $75 fee and I stated I didn’t know that. This was my first time booking a hotel downtown. I had to get a card because I only had tap pay due to I had paid for my reservations online and keep in my mind I have been communicating and she also told me there was no managers there, they all are gone home for the day because I requested one after that comment she made. The white lady tells me “even my high power clients have to pay the fee” red flag number 1 so I was like huh, so I told them let me step outside to call my husband to bring his card due to me not having mines. I was a little frustrated by the comment but ignored it. it’s my daughter bday and she was with me and all I wanted was here to enjoy her day with a view and a pool. When I talk to my husband and told him to bring the card, I went back in and the white lady told me the manager cancelled my reservation due to her manager. At this point I couldn’t believe they messed up my baby birthday by canceling my reservation. She told me they have the right to cancel due to their discretion. I was stuck in shock, felt so bad for my daughter birthday day, like I felt so undervalued, and less than a human at that point. This experience was unbelievable because I have never had an experience like this before. I couldn’t understand how the manager canceled my reservation and there was no manager on duty. You judged us and discriminated when it came to us. I asked for my refund and she told me I have to talk to her managers tomorrow. I will never come back here ever and I need my money back. Today was the most horrific day for my baby and I don’t appreciate it. This should have never happened at all. Due to the circumstances my daughter came had melted in the car and food sat in heat for too long. I couldn’t give her the birthday I had planned due to this and she will always remember this day. Customer service with that white lady was unacceptable to most high. I just walked out because I knew at that moment I needed to get out of there. I cried so hard and I’m a grown women but I was so hurt and distraught behind this.
