After Marriott has dropped the ball too many times, I was looking for an alternative. I found the American. I've been very happy with that choice. Service has been excellent. The staff seems obsessed with making sure you have everything you need for a good stay. Kudos to the staff!! I love the location. Rooms were what I expect of a Hilton property: clean with enough extra to exceed my needs. They had good tv selection, free Internet ( I'm a Hilton member) that worked over Dragon Con, plenty of space in room. I plan on coming back.

Wendy/Angie/Eric; Thank you tremendously for our Exceptional Stay — Eric at the front desk, Wendy and Angie from the restaurant were Amazing! Our stay in Atlanta was exceptional from beginning to end. Everything exceeded our expectations, but what really made the experience stand out was the Valet finding us a spot, Eric supporting us with exceptional Service and finally Wendy and Angie this morning. They went above and beyond our daughters picky food choices ? They were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely committed to making sure we had a great stay. It’s one thing to have a beautiful, comfortable place to stay, but it’s the people and the level of hospitality that turn a good experience into a memorable one. Wendy and Angie absolutely did that for us. Everything was clean, comfortable, well cared for, and exactly what we hoped for. We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived and truly appreciated the attention to detail throughout our stay. We would absolutely stay here again the next time we’re in Atlanta and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional experience. Five stars all around — and a special thank you to Wendy and Angie for making our Atlanta stay such a great one! They are the best.

Wendy and Ava in the breakfast Buffet service are absolutely amazing always smiling always ready to help always catering. They deserve a raise.!!!! They are truly fantastic Rene and Eric at the front desk and Lorence at the restaurant bar as well as prayter the security man , Are also on point ready to help and serve and make sure you stay is pleasant and comfortable!! We were here five nights the members mentioned above were of the same quality of service and smiles, and eye contact every day! The pool was also amazing although it would be nice for it to stay open until 10 PM rather than 9 PM if possible, many of the activities around the Hotel football Hall of Fame aquarium the zoo and many other attractions nearby. Also make the stay amazing. I was also surprised to see Horse carriages dressed up the street one block away at night.!!! You can’t go wrong around here at this hotel Like I said, however, with all of these attractions, if the pool was opened a little earlier and closed a little later, that would be fantastic! This hotel is an incredible value with a fantastic downtown location. The rooms were beautiful, spotless, and very comfortable. The pool was a huge hit with our family, especially because it had tubes and toys for the kids to enjoy. What truly makes this hotel deserving of five stars, though, is the people who work there. I travel frequently for work and have stayed in countless hotels over the years, so I know great hospitality when I experience it. Our family’s stay this weekend was made extraordinary because of the incredible team at The American Hotel in Downtown Atlanta. From the valet staff to the front desk during check-in, Ray, and every employee we met along the way, we were treated with genuine kindness, warmth, and care. Everyone was personable, welcoming, and authentic—something that is becoming increasingly rare. The real testament to how exceptional the staff is? My husband, who can usually find something to complain about wherever we stay, couldn’t stop talking about how wonderful everyone was. That alone says it all! Thank you to the entire team for making our family weekend so memorable. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Atlanta!

We are staying here for the World Cup. I highly recommend this beautiful , centrally located, and historically significant property. The attentiveness of the staff, particularly Deran, Wendy, and Shawn, and the cleanliness of the property are all to be commended. The staff at check-in were also amazing. The breakfast buffet was clean and well presented. The fresh fruit was among the best I’ve had at a chain hotel. I particularly appreciated the non-pork options. I hope to be back again soon!

I was recovering from a broken leg during my visit, and Deran went far above and beyond what would normally be expected. He was attentive, compassionate, and very helpful. Came to Atlanta for a job interview. I stayed for 2 nights, breakfast included. The receptionist were extremely welcoming and friendly, helped me with everything I needed. When I walked into my hotel room, everything was nice. It’s not a big deal but there was paint on the walls of the bathroom, very noticeable that they covered up holes. Other than that, breakfast both mornings was amazing. I had Wendy as my waiter both times and she was very kind! Wished me luck on my interview and helped me out in every way I needed! Great service and great location. It may not be convenient for other people, but my job interview was right next door and there were many food options nearby. $358 for a two night stay and breakfast included is a steal. Considering breakfast can be about $20 per person.

Front Desk/Office Ricky was incredibly patient, efficient, friendly & welcoming upon a busy check in! We touched base with the hotel prior to checking in & ended up chatting with Ricky in the app & when we checked in! Thankful for his kindness & patience on a busy travel day/weekend. The valet guys & lady were friendly, professional, efficient. They were also accommodating & patient with us when we had to go back to the truck a couple of times. Much appreciated! Breakfast was your standard hotel buffet breakfast, except the service was exceptional! Wendy, Deran, & Shawl were so friendly, accommodating, & their level of service was so refreshing! Thank you, to everyone at The American Hotel Atlanta Downtown for creating a smooth, fun, & enjoyable family weekend!

I had a wonderful stay at the American Hotel in downtown Atlanta. The location is perfect, close to restaurants, attractions, and easy to get around the city. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. What really made my experience stand out was the exceptional service at the front desk. Maleena was absolutely fantastic, friendly, professional, and very helpful with all my questions and requests. She truly made me feel welcome. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Atlanta, and I will be back!

What are fantastic stay! From the moment I arrived I was greeted by the wonderful staff and enjoyed talking to them. I loved my room, had a balcony with a view of The Park and Ferris wheel. The room was clean and very comfortable, and well appointed. The cable TV could have had more options but not a deal-breaker. It was off season for swimming so I didn't get a chance to check out the pool area. All of the common areas were comfortable and had some really cool memorabilia. Everybody I interacted with at this hotel was fantastic. I would say their little market is definitely expensive. $5 for a bottle of Coke or a candy bar. You can walk around the corner 100-ft to the convenience store and get one for a little more than half the price and a much bigger selection of items. The location couldn't be better. I will definitely stay again next time I'm in town!
