This downtown Atlanta hotel is praised for its exceptional service and convenient location near major attractions and conference centers, though rooms are frequently criticized for being dated, small, and overpriced given their condition. Recent stays highlight issues with inaccurate billing procedures and significant delays during busy conference periods.
Stayed here twice for concerts in the area. Staff are friendly and helpful, Tiffany at reception was welcoming and helpful with questions. I was able to check in on time with no issues. Room was spacious and clean, food was good, nothing special. Only cons, I booked a breakfast package with my room & there was some confusion when I tried to use the breakfast that was included but it was resolved. And the parking, while the valets are very nice in the north tower, park is expensive and valet is the only option here. In my limited experience, south tower valet attendants were very pushy to parl there when I was dropping off a guest, and parking elsewhere.
I am very upset at the Omni Hotel at this location. I have visited this hotel about 10 times over the years, and is my preferred location for business meetings. I booked for a stay the first 4 night of May this year about a month ago for a business event. The event was canceled, so I called Omni to cancel my reservation. Even though I am canceling more then 2 months ahead of stay, Omni is keeping my $1300. I find this to be very bad customer relations to a repeat visitor and rewards member. I have no doubt Omni will fill the room and get paid twice. In hindsight, since I was losing the money, I should have never canceled the reservation, or least given it to a homeless family. But I was told if I cancel, I can use a credit for a future stay, but after I did this, I was told I can not use a credit because I will not be there for a business meeting for 14 months, can not book past 12 months. So now I lost the money, the credit and the room. Which I would rather leave it empty, then allow them to get paid twice. So everyone be careful giving your money to Omni in advance. Big company with no ethics. I was told to take my dispute to Omni headquarters as an appeal, which I did, of course no reply. This decision was by Ali, the manager at the hotel. Business travelers, stay at Signia by Hilton, Embassy Suites or Marriott close by.
If you book a room here, there’s a great chance you won’t be able to actually get into your room until after 7. They have a lot of conferences and they’re not equipped to handle that many people. When we arrived at 4 there were probably 100 people standing to the side of the front desk hoping that their room would come available. Some of them checked in as early as 8:30 that morning. I understand not being able to get into your room until 4. But we checked in at 4, and my wife and I stood in the lobby waiting for a room until 6. Since we had an awards dinner at 6, we both had to change in the bathrooms in the lobby. We finally got a text at 7:10 that our room was available. After waiting all this time, we didn’t get the King room. They put us in a double. If you don’t have to stay here, I wouldn’t. The room itself is pretty nice, but it’s just not worth the other hassles you’ll have.
This is my first trip to Atlanta. The OMNI is very busy with a skills competition this weekend. Even though they are extremely busy the service I received has been amazing. Tiffany Ellis is a beautiful human being. She was welcoming and super helpful. When I arrived at the hotel early I left my luggage at the luggage station. I didn’t get the gentleman’s name there but he was super nice and helpful as well. He gave me a ticket for my luggage and gave me directions to get to the check in lobby. (That can be a little confusing because there is two towers and you check in at the south tower and I arrived at the north tower) When I got to the check in location there was a very long line but all the kids there for the competition was respectful and excited. Everyone at the check in desk was friendly and took their time answering everyone’s questions. When I got to Tiffany she was super sweet, beautiful smile and ready to help. Once I got my key to my room I asked how I get my luggage she said I’ll have it sent right up. I think I was in my room for like 5 minutes and Hassan brought my luggage. He was super friendly and so welcoming as well. Unfortunately I have to change hotels today for the rest of my stay. I hope my next hotel is an awesome as the OMNI. They have big shoes to fill.
The negatives are there is no hand soap in the bathrooms. The front desk won’t call you a taxi or help with transportation. No one helps you with your luggage fron the taxi. To get a door dash order you have to hunt down the location and it’s basically outside just sitting unguarded on a corner table near the parking garage. They make you pay an additions charge of $10 a day to use their wifi. I booked through delta so my price was good but the website was three times as much. For a high end hotel I would expect assistance with these things. The rooms are clean. The view from the premium room with a view was good. The temperature in the rooms was easily regulated. Bed not very comfy though. If you don’t mind paying a lot for location and a clean room with no hand soap and no assistance, book it.
Excellent downtown location with restaurants within walking distance. Our room on the 27th floor offered a birdseye view of Centennial Park and the world famous ferris wheel. The staff was helpful, attentive, professional and polite. The hotel was decked out in holiday cheer as we stayed just after Christmas. There were lots of interactive photo ops available.
This was our first stay and it will NOT be our last. The room, view, and convenience to State Farm arena was great, but customer service is next level. Laurisa truly made this trip memorable and unforgettable for my son. She went above and beyond to make my son’s 10 birthday special with basketball cookies, balloons, and the sweetest card. I couldn’t thank her enough!
The hotel is clean and the rooms are nice. I do have a major complaint however, and that is the non-existent wi-fi. Everyone we spoke to that was staying at this hotel for the same event was also having the same issues as us, and it seemed there was just nothing to do about it. Looking at the reviews it seems like this has been an issue for a very long time. It seriously makes me reconsider booking again for the same event next year even if the hotel is just fine on all other accounts.
Stayed at the Omni Atlanta for the duration of a conference, KubeCon + CloudNativeCon, that was happening at Georgia World Congress Center for the past week. The room was spacious, with a sofa, huge bed, and generous counter top space. The hotel mat seems a bit dated but it serves its purpose well. The bed was plush and comfortable as well. Amenities will be what you can expect of an American hotel (don’t expect hot water kettle and etc). The location is just 3 minutes walk to the congress center and is a top option for business travelers heading here for conferences. The price can be on the higher side as it is well located. Overall a good stay worthy of a 5*, and will recommend for business but not vacation due to the higher price point.
Attended a conference at the Omni and stayed onsite. It was a great space for the conference and the conference food was great. My only conference complaint was that the sound was not great in several larger rooms and the closed captioning was not always available. My room was also great. Though I do not recommend a room in the north tower overlooking the train tracks. Even on the 17th floor, I could hear the train in my room at night. It was quite noisy when it went by. I also found the bed to be too soft. I had to strip the bed to remove a lumpy pillowy mattress topper, but the mattress was still too soft without it. I had a double queen room. There was a small seating area by the window, but no actual desk space from which to work comfortably.
