The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Atlanta Downtown offers a central location near popular attractions like the Georgia Aquarium and Centennial Olympic Park. Guests consistently praise the friendly and efficient staff, plentiful breakfast options, and convenient valet parking. However, rooms can be small, and some reviewers have noted issues with bird droppings on windows and occasional difficulties with the bathroom fan.
Stayed for 3 nights. The staff were friendly and efficient. They let us check in early, which was nice, as we had been on the airplane all day. Got a room on the second floor, with no view, but had frosted windows to provide light. There was lots of space in the room to spread out. Little cubby holes and shelves and we paid for a larger room. Which had a tv in the living room area with hide a bed and a tv in the bedroom. The breakfast was plentiful. Serving both lighter and heavier fare. The 2nd floor mezzanine was open all day for coffee and tea with flavored coffee mate creamer. There was gatorade in the main lobby to cool off with all day. The only down side was there was only one mirror in our room. So if someone was in the bathroom, you didn't have a mirror to do your hair. And the frosted windows were covered in bird poop. The rooms were clean and there was a kitchenette room with a fridge and keurig. Close walking distance to The Coke Museum, Georgia Aquarium and Centennial Olympic park.
Great location for the price, especially being right in the heart of downtown. Everyone at the hotel was very welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. Albie and Brittney were especially helpful and made the experience even better with their great customer service. There’s also a market attached to the hotel which was super convenient for snacks, drinks, and other essentials. Valet parking is available, although it is $40 per day. The room itself was clean, quiet, and the bed was extremely comfortable, which made for a great night’s sleep. The main downside is that the rooms are very small, along with the hallways, elevators, and bathroom. The bathroom also did not have a fan, so it got very hot quickly. Despite the smaller space, the hotel was well-kept and overall still a pleasant stay thanks to the location, cleanliness, and friendly staff.
I wanted to leave a review for this hotel because when I was looking at the reviews, I was so nervous on what I would actually find. This hotel was perfect for my needs and my trip. I was traveling for a convention at the GWCC ten minutes away so it was an easy walk whenever I wanted to walk to the center. Location is great for that. Additionally when I arrived, Valeting my car was so easy. The valet guy was so nice and he helped me get my stuff inside as well. I did decide to valet my car so I didn't have to worry about it getting broken into in Atlanta. I thought the price was reasonable at 40 a day. Upon check in, I was a little weary because I was a solo traveler and the front desk girl was so sweet and kind upon check in. When I got upstairs to my room it was so perfect. The view was perfect and it was clean. The space was perfect for one person but maybe if there was more than one person It might be tight. I had a king size bed room with loads of suitcases lol. anyways, the only bad thing that happened was MID SHOWER- MID SUDS- the water in the hotel went out ... so I couldn't finish my shower but even with that happening, that was literally out of there control. I loved this hotel and this location. The wifi was great as someone who live streams. I Went to breakfast every morning and the food was delicious. The staff is constantly cleaning the breakfast area and putting out hot fresh food. Lastly, I was able to do late check out and the valet staff helped me again to my car. I was so unbelievably impressed with this location. I would definitely stay here again! if you are nervous to book this location due to reviews... DO IT. the price is reasonable and it's a nice hotel and good friendly staff. THANK YOU HOLIDAY INN STAFF!!!!!!
Had a wonderful stay despite visiting during a busy time for them (popular soccer match at the Mercedes-Benz stadium). The location is great! The room was clean and beds were comfortable. Our room was small but it’s understandable since it’s an older building. The elevators were small too but they have three and they all worked. Front desk staff greeted us as soon as we walked in. Hot breakfast is included and it was delicious. They had a variety of things to eat. The employees (ladies) in the breakfast area worked hard and were nice. Would recommend.
I stayed here for the Lady Gaga concert. It was a short walk to State Farm Arena. Room was very clean, it had a mini fridge and a microwave too. Breakfast was delicious, lots of options available. I’d recommend this hotel 10/10.
The employees are extremely kind, helpful and personable. The nicest of any at any Holiday Inn I’ve ever stayed at in the past. Breakfast was really good and the team who ran it were very polite and worked hard (and successfully) to keep everything full so no one had to wait for an item to be replenished. Super great location – very easy to walk to things all over the area both attraction & restaurants. The rooms are fairly crammed and small, but it worked well enough overall for what was needed.
Has a wonderful stay. Kemar was great at check in and Justin was awesome as well. The entire staff was really great. Thank you all for welcoming all the "monsters" in town for the Mayhem Ball. Room was clean and breakfast was great every morning. Will definitely stay again next time I'm in town.
5-star review turned into a 1-star at check-out! I went to check out at 7pm the night before my checkout day and I was told I’d be charged a $75 early check out fee in addition to full booking cost. I wasn’t given any policy reference as to what is the earliest I could check out to avoid this fee. I would still be charged for the entire last day plus the fee. I wasn’t asking to be charged any less because we had stay past the previous days checkout so expected to pay the full price. The website does not provide an exact time or additional language to clarify if this applies before a certain time or to a booking type. Is it 12am the day of, 2am, 6am? It just says check-out until 11am. Front desk mentioned it’s because they can’t re-sale the room. But I am paying for the room until 11am the next day, I just won’t be here. I’d accept it if it wasn’t so vague or if it resulted in extra work, but to charge it and have me still pay for the room is crazy. I’ll be fair and say the staff was incredibly nice at all other times of the stay at every interaction. Definitely a great value. Beds were really comfortable and it’s a great location.
We stayed for one night before NYE. The staff were incredible - always helpful, kind and understanding. They even got us into an available room with amazing view room 906! I really felt the positive energy and pancakes in the morning didn’t hurt :)
We had an overall amazing experience! The only reason it is 4 stars is because it gets super loud at night & you can hear EVERYTHING going on outside. The power in our room also randomly would cut out then turn back on (the fridge, microwave, and tv). The breakfast was good, its what you'd expect from a hotel. The room was clean, although pretty small. An important note, as travelers not used to the area, it is a nice area to walk around in and it is located within walking distance to the Aquarium. But, once the sun sets, uber if you have to go out because it gets rather sketchy at night.
