The Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown offers a solid option for travelers seeking a conveniently located hotel in the heart of the city, with easy access to major attractions like Centennial Olympic Park and the Georgia Aquarium. While generally well-maintained and comfortable, some reviews highlight inconsistencies in service and concerns regarding room cleanliness and amenities.
The Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown is a solid choice if you’re staying in the heart of the city. The location is excellent—walkable to major attractions like Centennial Olympic Park, the aquarium, and downtown dining, which makes getting around easy. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The rooms are spacious enough, the beds are comfortable, and everything feels dependable and functional, which is exactly what you expect from a Hilton Garden Inn. Common areas are nice and welcoming, even if they’re not particularly flashy. Service was consistently good during my stay—professional and helpful without being overly formal. While it doesn’t feel like a luxury property, it does a lot of things right and delivers a smooth, reliable experience. Overall, this is a better?than?average downtown hotel with a great location and solid value. I’d happily stay here again when visiting Atlanta.
I'm disabled with three bags all four individuals at the desk were very nice but not one of the three women nor the man offered to assist with my luggage. Room is adequate, the view is awesome. I turned the fridge up when I checked in on Wednesday. I threw my leftovers in last night. They were warm this morning at 6. Called the desk. Engineer came 1130(am) and told me refrigerators don't get any colder and they don't make noise. The room being on 66 was colder than the refrigerator. He took the replacement and told me good night.
Good staff/service. Awful pillows. Nice clean room and bathrooms. Hot tub didn't work. Pricey parking. Great location to the aquarium, Cenntenial Olympic Park and the College Football Hall of Fame. Several restaurants to choose from in the area, even though our experience with most all of them we're not very good. Good security presence.
We had a great stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Atlanta! We were in town celebrating a 7th birthday at the Aquarium, and this hotel was perfect! It’s literally right next to the Georgia Aquarium and Centennial Park, and we were able to easily walk to the World of Coke and the SkyView Ferris Wheel. Everything felt super walkable and safe, even at night with young kids. The hotel itself was a great value. Very clean rooms, friendly staff, and a solid breakfast. The indoor pool was a big hit, and the rooftop pool area was super cool with great views (even though it was a bit too cold to swim outside). Overall, an awesome stay and we’d definitely come back next time we visit Atlanta!
This hotel checked all of our boxes and staff was super great and attentive! They brought us things like towels and blankets and toilet paper in the middle of the night several times with no delay. We also were pleasantly surprised with the outdoor facilities still completely available despite it being November (until 11pm!). It was great to walk around at the aquarium all day and then soak in the hot tub. There were 4 of us in the double queen room and it was comfortable. The only thing I would say about the room is there is no fan in the bathroom, so it would get humid in the room after 4 people showering. Location was amazing. They helped us with a late checkout and held our bags for several hours until it was time to go to the airport. The view of the park and aquarium was also really nice, at some points we were able to see a seal through one of the windows in the roof. This is a more of a general Atlanta problem- but the tap water, even when filtered, tastes like straight up dirt water in the fall and the water bottles to buy at the shop downstairs were pretty expensive. Overall, it was clean, convenient and comfortable. Friends were surprised it was only a 3 star hotel!
This was my first time choosing to stay here rather than at the Omni or signia. The pros: it’s an absolute fantastic location. It’s at the corner of centennial park and is a quick walk to State Farm arena, the aquarium, Georgia world congress center and the stadium. There’s also plenty of restaurants around and it’s near the green belt for running and walking. The front desk staff was also really nice and welcoming. The fact that there’s a microwave and fridge in the room was also great! Were were able to eat hot leftovers. We also loved that there was an iron and ironing board. The cable package is also pretty good. Although our cable was disconnected when we first arrived, maintenance came quickly to fix the issue. The cons: the room was fairly clean although there were a few random hairs in the bathroom and shower, which is one of my pet peeves. We also were only given 2 half rolls of toilet paper even though housekeeping only comes every other day. The biggest disappointment and disgusting point was that our comforter had fresh food stains that hadn’t been washed, meaning the comforters are recycled. It’s disgusting as you hear that the comforters aren’t cleaned but when a stained comforter is reused, it’s unsettling. We eventually got a new comforter, but a couple nights we just had to sleep with sheets until we got the clean comforter. Overall, not sure if I would come back due to cleanliness, but if I do come back, it’ll be because of the location and staff.
?? AVOID this hotel at all costs! STAY ELSEWHERE! ? Try Omni, Embassy Suites, or any reputable hotel that actually respects its guests. My experience was extremely disappointing due to serious problems in service, honesty, and professionalism. 1. The hotel canceled my reservation after my flight was delayed overnight — without notifying me and without any refund. I’ve stayed at many hotels, and any reasonable one would first call or email the guest before canceling. That’s called "customer service", not making casual jokes at the front desk, making others wait. 2. When I asked to speak with a manager, the staff refused to escalate my request. 3. At checkout, I requested a receipt of all transactions, but the front desk kept saying they “didn’t know how” or that “the system didn’t have my information.” Later, it turned out they actually had all the records. I had to wait over 10 minutes until another employee finally helped. 4. The hotel’s information about me was incorrect — they entered a random address and phone number on my receipt, even though I gave them the correct details during check-in. 5. I left some personal items in my room's closet and called immediately, but all items disappeared. It’s natural to conclude that my belongings were lost (or stolen) by someone there. I'd experience around 100 hotels in US, but this was the worst hotel I’ve ever had. They are so unprofessional, dishonest, and irresponsible from start to finish. ? I’ve stayed at around 100 hotels in the U.S., but this was by far the WORST experience ever. ? Unprofessional, dishonest, and completely irresponsible from start to finish. ? NEVER book this place. Stay somewhere that actually values its guests.
Perfect location - walking distance from most everything you would want or need to do! They were super accommodating and allowed us an early check in so we weren’t carrying our bags around all day. Rooms were spotless as always and plenty of soaps/shampoos in the bathroom. None of those tiny little bottles. Great view of the city - even allowed us to pick our floor! Thank you for making our quick trip in town for the concert as restful as possible!
The Best Hilton We've Ever Stayed At — Truly Exceptional Service We’ve traveled all over the world and stayed in countless Hilton properties, but this one in downtown Atlanta stands out as the best Hilton experience we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the level of service, professionalism, and genuine hospitality was above and beyond. Check-in was smooth and welcoming, and that’s where we met Denise at the front desk — an absolute gem. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely made us feel like valued guests. Every interaction with her was pleasant, helpful, and personal. It’s rare to come across someone who not only does their job well but goes the extra mile to ensure you feel at home. Denise truly set the tone for our entire stay. The hotel itself is well-located, clean, and comfortable, but it’s the people who work there who make the real difference. From housekeeping to the front desk, every team member we encountered was courteous and professional. It’s clear that this property emphasizes guest experience in a way that makes a lasting impression. We left feeling like we had been cared for, not just accommodated — and that’s something you don’t always get, even at luxury hotels. This Hilton is now the standard by which we’ll measure all others. Highly, highly recommended — and if you’re lucky enough to meet Denise when you check in, you’re in for a great start to your stay
First and foremost, the staff at this hotel was absolutely AMAZING! Ty who we spoke to at first when having some questions was a delight to speak with and answered so many questions about the area. Then when we arrived we had the pleasure of dealing with all the ladies at the front desk and the manager Mr. Norman. Everyone was super helpful in suggestions from out to eat to how to get to where we needed to go. Our room with a view was absolutely awesome and my wife and I have decided we won’t stay in another hotel when we come to our convention. This will be our home away from home in Atlanta. Thank you ALL SO MUCH!
