This high-profile downtown hotel features stunning architecture, spacious suites, and generally reliable modern amenities, making it a solid choice for conferences or luxury stays. However, potential guests should be aware that the property charges high valet and parking fees and can experience significant noise disturbance from large student groups; some recent reviews also report cleanliness issues with pests like roaches and maintenance problems.
?? Important: Before booking, confirm with the hotel whether they are hosting large student groups. If they are, I strongly recommend staying elsewhere. I stayed here for three nights during a business conference. The room itself was very modern, clean, and perfectly comfortable for a short business trip. The bathroom was bright, with a nice shower and plenty of space to get ready without feeling cramped. The meeting space worked well and I had no issues there. Drinks and snack offerings were good. Dining was mixed. The hotel restaurant has limited dinner options and prices run moderate to expensive for what you receive. Lunch during the conference was underwhelming — a very basic setup of salad, fish, chicken, and beef with a small dessert. Breakfast was ok nothing special. Parking is expensive at $60 per night. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was noise. The hotel was hosting a large group of students, and there appeared to be little to no control over them. The result was significant noise and lost sleep on the final night of an intense business conference — not ideal when you need to be rested and focused. Overall: solid rooms and functional meeting space, but be cautious about large group bookings if you value quiet and rest.
I stayed here while attending a work conference in downtown Atlanta. The building is beautiful with great views, and I liked the modern layout. The elevators were fast and efficient, which helped during busy mornings. The location is convenient for conferences. Easy to Uber or catch a shuttle, though it’s not right in the center of everything. The rooms were clean, housekeeping was good, and water pressure was decent. Staff wasn’t overly friendly but were professional. Overall, a solid option for business travel in Atlanta.
We had stayed at HR Atlanta back in October with our two children and au pair (3 adults and 2 kids) for fall break visiting from Texas. We had such a lovely stay. We loved the rooftop beehive and fresh honey every morning. We loved the sunset view from Polaris and our kids loved the sea bass and the steak! Their non-alcoholic beverages made them feel fancy! Hyatt hospitality was evident from the valet parking staff to the front desk staff was superb. The room was spacious, clean, well-maintained. Our connecting suite was relaxing. Walking distance to GA AQ, Coca Cola, ATL kids museum, and so many places was definitely a plus. We would definitely come back!
My family and I arrived to participate in the competition. Having paid $800 for two days, we expected a comfortable and cozy stay. Instead, we were met with an all-night party in the room next door. There were at least 10 people, and the music was louder than in a nightclub. Appealing to the hotel staff yielded no results. All they did was promise to look into the matter. It's 12:37 a.m., and the party in the neighboring room is still going strong. Hotel security is doing nothing.
I am not one to leave reviews but I felt the need to with this one. I travel quite a bit for work and find myself in all sorts of hotels. Some not so great, and some quite fancy. This hotel, while being a Hyatt, is in the middle of that spectrum. My room was retrofitted so it did have a couple modern features but had no decoration and felt sterile. The bathroom is a smaller one and had a more old school bathtub setup opposed to what you might see in a hotel built more recently. Two stars taken off the room because for one, the room itself felt very boring which is just strange for a Hyatt. The their in the corner had some stains on it that were a brownish red color. Not that I ever used it but I wouldn’t sit on it if I wanted to. I also was greeted by a German cockroach which was quite surprising, especially on the fourteenth floor. Thankfully that was the only one I say during my stay. I mentioned the roach to the front desk but they only offered someone come take care of it, which I already did as soon as I saw it. Nobody offered anything else. For a Hyatt, I would have expected something like complimentary nights or additional points added onto my account. Service gets two stars off because the lack of solution to finding a roach in my room and the fact that the hotel wanted to charge far too much for basics. The water bottles in the room were not free (cmon Hyatt) and the coffee downstairs was over $5 for a large cup of mediocre coffee. How can I stay at a doubletree and get free coffee but a Hyatt can’t offer that. It’s not like the coffee was anything to write home about. Location gets one star off because the area itself is a little grungy. Valet only parking is annoying. You have to go to the lower level and present your ticket to the inside counter. None of this info was told to me so I had to find out the day I was leaving. I am used to picking valet up at the place I drop off but that’s not the case here just FYI. There are lots around to park but just be aware they’ll be charging you a premium on certain days. Idk I guess I expect more from a Hyatt. I stay at a lot of different hotel chains and this one was a little surprising. Older hotel with very basic rooms, service was mid, roach in my room, overpriced coffee, valet only. I wouldn’t be sad if I was never booked in this hotel again for work.
The staff was very pleasant from start to finish. The hotel itself is beautiful—large, clean, and it smells amazing in the common areas. We stayed in the international wing, and the room was a decent size. The room itself was clean; however, the shower was disappointing and clearly not cleaned, with hair throughout. Unfortunately, we didn’t notice this right away because we arrived late and had dinner plans, only realizing it when we returned around 1 a.m. That said, the room was spacious, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Valet service was very convenient, making it easy to pull up, unload our belongings, and hand off the car. The bar drinks were good, and the bar staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall, while there were several positives, the cleanliness issue makes me unsure if I would choose to stay here again.
Drove here to celebrate my anniversary. Had a very lovely time. All the staff here are so kind. From check in, valet, housekeeping , to the people working the cafe. Our room was also very clean, comfy, and spacious! Had a lovely view of the city right outside our window. Shout out to the very kind lady working the “Market” part of the hotel towards closing time on January 3rd. She was so sweet & made us both feel very welcomed. She deserves recognition!! About the room: We were on the 21st floor. The soaps included with our room smelled sooo nice, TV was very big. Lots of places to sit and lounge around. We got the king bed. Thanks to everyone at the Hyatt for helping us make our anniversary very special.
Tip: If you can, dine literally anywhere else. You definitely get what you pay for here. Prices were reasonably low, and the hotel was mostly clean. It’s a little dated, but not in a “charming vintage” way—more like “this place has seen some things,” and is choosing not to talk about them. Then there’s the food, and suddenly the lower ratings make perfect sense. In-room dining is already pricey, but $8 for three slices of bacon is impressive in a “did the pig come with a tiny tuxedo and a violin” kind of way. My $15 fruit bowl arrived with molded fruit, which I guess is their attempt at offering aged produce. Bold choice. It gets better: I brought leftovers from a nearby restaurant and figured I’d heat them up. The “community” microwaves looked like they’d been through a busy weekend and had not emotionally recovered—dirty enough that I considered eating my food cold out of respect. All that said, credit where it’s due: the staff at check-in/out was exceptionally pleasant, and honestly, they’re doing heroic work holding the vibe together.
The hotel itself was decent definitely stayed in alot better but the experience overall was a 1 star. As soon as you arrive you can either vallet park for $60 a night or park down the street at a sketchy parking garage which was a no go because I have kids. Then in the morning we paid im advance for the breakfast, which me and my son were looking forward to because it seemed like a nice restaurant. But the food was not good they had nothing for kids, he settled on cereal, which for 60 dollars for breakfast we coulda went to waffle house. So between vallet and subpar breakfast it came to 120 which was almost more than our room.
Beautiful place, first time here. The elevators terrified me as I'm afraid of heights but by the 4th or 5th time I was OK( we were on the 20th floor?)! Had one little bump while there with the restaurant cashier. Our room came with breakfast for 3 each day we stayed, the lady didn't believe it and said they didn't do that there. After a little bit and her checking with someone else, we were able to enjoy the buffet! The servers and omelet makers were awesome and the food was perfecto!
