Guests praise the excellent downtown location and frequent accolades for exceptional front desk service from staff like DJ. However, the property frequently suffers from apparent maintenance issues, specifically dirty room features and broken amenities, despite a general reputation for cleanliness.
We had a great stay in Atlanta. This hotel is conveniently located in the downtown area. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable and the service by the front desk, especially TJ, was great. We got restaurant recommendations, extra towels, and he made our stay more enjoyable.
I completely understand that hotels don't have public restrooms but most hotels know when to make an exception. I'm a limosine driver and occasionally have asked hotels to use their restrooms when I had to wait for guests for longer periods of time. It is usually not an issue as the hotel staff understands that there are no public restrooms in the Downtown area AND I'm a woman. They also know, we provide a service to their guests. Not so at the Courtyard by Marriott. Even though I'm dressed professionally and am in my 60s, the front desk agent wouldn't make an exception. He insisted on needing a guest's first and last name. Since this was an Uber black pickup, I only had two first names. I repeatedly pleaded with him to please let me use the restroom since it was an emergency but he wouldn't budge. He just kept repeating that they don't have public restrooms. It was such a humiliating experience! Where was the humanity? At the time, there were only two male and one female staff member and myself in the lobby area. I did explain what happened to the guest I was picking up, and, needless to say, they weren't happy, either. I am quite certain, the front desk agent wouldn't want anyone to treat his mother the way he treated me.
Over all it was a good experience. They dont offer what most other Marriott offer. There is no free breakfast no lotion in the bathrooms. No on-site parking. They do offer parking overnight for 55. The beds were comfortable and the rooms smelled clean. The Look hole for the door was dirty so we couldn't see out for safety reasons. All the people at the front desk were nice. Valet parking was fast and the gentleman was nice. Didn't see any bugs which is always a pluse. Overall I would recommend. Its within walking distance to the park and the aquarium depending on how much you wanna walk. Better priced then other hotels in the areas.
Absolutely love my weekend stay. I came down for Saints vs Falcants game. What I loved most about the room was hot shower, super comfy bed, and super clean room!!! Conveniently located downtown to stores lounges and restaurant. Front desk was great as well. Will stay again!!
Like others have said, DJ greeting us at check in set the tone for a lovely stay. The hotel is in a historic building, which we always enjoy but does make for interesting floor plans, elevators, etc. The location was excellent but it was the service that makes this hotel a repeat for us.
As loyal Marriott guests, we appreciated the central downtown location of this Courtyard. The hotel competently handled all the fundamental aspects of a comfortable stay—everything operated exactly as expected, with nothing drastically standing out, positively or negatively. The central location was a significant benefit; we especially enjoyed having many restaurants and attractions within easy walking distance. I will note that the hotel's 'by-request' housekeeping policy, while now standard, requires guests to proactively call down for service. However, I genuinely appreciated the staff's initiative: although I had only requested a simple set of fresh towels, they proactively offered to perform a full room cleaning. That level of attentiveness was definitely a welcome touch. We would consider staying here again for the convenient location.
This hotel was absolutely amazing. Food options were great and walking distance to everything. Front Desk Agent Ashley was the best, with a lobby full of guest and also a full restaurant she smiled and assisted me and my family with all the information that was needed. We will definitely stay at this property on our next trip to Atlanta.
From the moment I arrived until the time I checked out, I received exceptional customer service. DJ at the front desk was incredibly kind, professional, and personable. He went above and beyond to accommodate my needs and made sure I felt truly welcome throughout my stay. The level of customer service here is top tier. I really appreciate all the staff, and I will definitely be staying here again the next time I visit Atlanta!
I recently stayed at the Courtyard Atlanta Downtown and found the experience to be pretty average overall. The hotel has a great location right in the heart of downtown, which is definitely its biggest plus. You're close to attractions, restaurants, and public transit. As for the room itself—nothing special. The view is horrible! The space was on the small side, with a mix of vinyl flooring and a dated, unattractive carpet that didn’t add much to the comfort or aesthetics. The room had a fridge and a coffee machine, but no microwave. If you need one, there's a shared unit behind the front desk, which isn’t ideal. Breakfast isn’t included in the stay, which was a letdown. However, the lobby area is modern and inviting, and the on-site restaurant-bar is a nice touch if you don't feel like going out. A couple more things to note: there's no shuttle service to or from the airport, so plan transportation accordingly. Overall, the hotel is decent for a short stay or business trip if location is your top priority—but don’t expect much in terms of room comfort or amenities.
While the overall experience was satisfactory. We felt compelled to share how truly exceptional one of your team members was during my visit. DJ, who assisted me during our stay went above and beyond in every interaction. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made it lasting impression. He made what might have been an ordinary hotel stay into something memorable. Even though the hotel itself was just okay, his warm demeanor and impeccable service elevated my entire experience. Please pass along our heartfelt thanks to DJ, and I hope his dedication is recognized within your team. He is truly an asset to your establishment.
