The Clarion Inn & Suites Atlanta Downtown receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising the friendly staff, convenient location near Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and included breakfast. However, recurring concerns include dated rooms, cleanliness issues (stains, dirty linens), parking fees, and inconsistent service. Recent reviews highlight potential issues with room maintenance and staff responsiveness.
Following up on previous review : The reservation was my reservation with my sister as an added guest which is how choice hotels explained for me to do the reservation , as I’ve done before many times I am very aware that different hotels have different policies I called to inquire specifically about this locations policies before booking the points and money stay . I’m a very honored member in fact I spend lots of money on these reservations being a traveling nurse. This was a horrible experience and choice hotels was in fact on the phone as well as myself during the incident in question and the manager was very rude I witnessed on the phone and choice hotels . In the reservation section it doesn’t tell guests that you are not allowed to check into a prepaid reservation as a additional guest and not use virtual banking tools which could have been explained in the initial phone calling requesting check in information and requirements . In fact virtual isn’t allowed at all and guests should know this prior to booking this doesn’t give the manager the right to act how she did and it’s quiet bothering for a guest in a situation like that as far from home as we were. Fortunately choice hotels made it right and refunded my money. Horrible experience all around
Here’s a polished review in your tone, Mrs. Moore: 4 ? Overall, I’d give Clarion Inn & Suites Atlanta Downtown a solid 4 stars. For being semi down the street from Mercedes-Benz Stadium, it was surprisingly quiet, which I appreciated. My rooms were renovated and comfortable, and the few minor issues I noticed were reported, so no need to drag details. What really made this stay worth the 4 stars was the customer service—A1 across the board. Huge shoutout to Chase, Marcus, the blonde lady with dreads, the gentleman with the Iverson braids, and the breakfast ladies because they all deserve recognition. If I had to single one out, Chase definitely went above and beyond dealing with my aggy self, and Marcus was proactive by reconfirming everything before I even arrived. Just a few FYIs for future guests: parking is $25 a night, there’s a $50 incidental hold, and valet is an additional $5. I do wish I had known about the parking fee upfront at check-in, but overall these aren’t complaints—just things to keep in mind. Solid stay and solid staff.
I had an amazing time here at Clarian inn. The staff are extremely helpful and kind! I loved the breakfast included and there even a gym in the hotel. It’s super close to most downtown activities. The mercedes Benz Stadium is only a 8 minute walk. The Georgia aquarium is a 10 minute drive which is close to coca cola exhibit. We had no complaints and loved the overall service!
Check in fast and staff very friendly. Location good if in town for concerts at State Farm Arena or Mercedes Arena in walking distance. We stayed here because parking fee and pet fee were most reasonable for area. The room was not great dirty and ac in bedroom not working. Interior dated and furniture stained.Only positive is room large enough for 6 people but pull out couch extremely old and uncomfortable. If staying one night it's bearable but if you plan on staying beyond that I would not stay here!
To me the best part of the stay was the exceptional breakfast service. The ladies were extremely pleasant and helpful on all notes. All the staff were very helpful and pleasant the service truly made my stay great thanks to all the staff you are truly appreciated
Parking was a little confusing, but we are old and from Oklahoma lol. But the staff was amazing. Melissa in the kitchen acted like she had known me my whole life. I enjoyed her so much. I don't know the names of the other women but they need a raise. The young men working the front desk treated us like we were their grandparents. The cleaning staff always had a friendly how are you. When you have staff like that I would do whatever was necessary to keep them. Perfect example of the southern hospitality you hear about. Now the lady in charge of whatever that came and chewed people out for being in breakfast too early could have done that a little differently.
Need a quick spot then it's fine. It was mostly clean, a little dusty. Staff was fine. Location was not in a great area of town, but only about 5-7 drive time from downtown. I think the most frustrating was we had to pay $50 to park for 2 days and we were unaware of this before booking. Most hotels don't make you pay, especially paying $288 for the weekend.
Stayed here for the Peach Bowl. Quick walk to the stadium. Rooms are a bit worn but clean. The staff is extremely friendly. Che at the front desk was very helpful.
One of the most horrible verbal confrontations I ever had based on erroneous booking with the hotel manager by the name of Kimberly Thacker. I called in to attempt to address charges on my credit card that were pending. From the time I requested to speak to a manager, It was like I was being talked to through intimidation and aggressive denial of an error in the booking process. Kimberly Thacker the manager had no interpersonal communication skills and took over the conversation based on some electronic communication through the booking process. I had red flagged the error one day before my booking and explained the days were wrong that you had in your system. Nothing was done and I was treated like someone who booked the wrong dates, to make matters worse I never received any confirmations for the dates that were erroneously booked. When I tried to explain what was happening the manager over took the conversation and said I booked the erroneous day. She was very confrontational, she did not allow me to fully express to what had happened and she left no room for maybe someone booked the wrong date and possibly a mistake was made and not by the customer. I will be escalating this interaction through various means such as the consumer complaint review board, through the Choice Brand complaint board, Better Business Bureau and through sites like Yelp, Google Review and where I feel people can read and take caution with this hotel management. I have worked in Federal Law Enforcement for over 24 years and Served My Country in Wartime and I have nothing but Respect and honor in how I address people. I really would hope her immediate manager would train her to be professional at all times and not embarrass the brand with trying to bully people over the telephone and making it look as though they are wrong for standing up for something such as unauthorized charges on their Visa. The Choice Brand Needs to train there Hotel Managers in communication etiquette and professionalism, Especially Kimberly Thacker.
Will never book this or any other name like this again. I booked a double bed room with a sofa couch. Check in and the lady gave me a king room & when I went back down to tell her I was given the wrong room, she did try to accommodate or anything. She stated it wasn’t anything she could do the computer says a king bed room. She even told me I would have to pay extra for a room I already booked. Do you think I don’t know what I booked on my debit card. Also they will double charge you for the deposit fee & parking. I brought this to her attention and she told me it’s one transaction but it shows separate in your bank information. The double charged was taken out of my account so that didn’t make sense. Also the sheets in the beds are dirty, linty and stained. I check out at 4am and went home. Waste of my $120 for one night.
