This property blends a striking architectural atrium with consistently praised hospitality and a prime downtown location, though several guests report significant operational issues including severe delays during late arrivals and inadequate housekeeping.
In March 2025, I took 30 students for an overnight trip for a school conference that they Hyatt Regency does a remarkable job hosting and coordinating for us. We were told check-in is at 4 PM, but our state director said due to the multitude of people visiting for the conference, check-in could be slightly delayed. So, I told my students we would kill time until 6:30 PM until we would eventually check-in together. Not only were our rooms not ready, we did not receive our first set of keys until 10 PM. We received 2 rooms' keys and had to split 30 people between two rooms. I called several times to the front desk to no avail. I was told at 10:30 PM and then at midnight that the cleaning staff were still preparing our rooms for us. AT MIDNIGHT????!!!! These reservations were created at or before February 4th, which was our deadline to have everything paid. One of our students who happened to be studying hospitality and event management for said conference called in and complained about non-compliance with the fire code due to 15 people per room. This is when the manager swiftly got involved and gave us our keys to the remaining rooms. Our students were able to sleep from 2 AM to 6 AM for the full amount of the room, which I feel is VERY unfair and not indicative of a full amount's worth of a one night hotel fee. We are approaching the conference yet again and are unfortunately assigned the Marriott Marquis, much to my dismay. I was hoping to be assigned the adjoining Hyatt Regency. I am not looking forward to this stay, especially when I am responsible for 30 students belonging to other families, and all of them have heard the horror stories of no sleep and no rooms of last year's nightmare.
I recently stayed at this hotel with a group for a conference and had a wonderful experience. The service was fabulous, everyone we interacted with was friendly, professional, and attentive. The hotel restaurants were delicious with top-notch service, and the unique architecture gave the property a memorable charm. Our room was clean and comfortable, making it easy to relax after long days. I will definitely be staying here again!!
I had an excellent stay at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis while attending the Keller Williams Family Reunion 2026 convention. The hotel is absolutely impressive — from the iconic atrium design to the overall atmosphere and energy throughout the property. Everything was very well organized despite the large number of attendees in town. The staff was professional, welcoming, and always willing to help, which made the experience even better. My room was clean, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing after long convention days. The location was also very convenient, close to restaurants and downtown attractions. Overall, a fantastic experience for both business travel and events. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Atlanta.
Such a great place for a large conference! Amazing internal courtyard with glass elevators wisking you up... up... up... and away! Wonderful view from our 41st floor. My only drawback... very dated carpets. Excellently quick bell hops, valet, and concierge.
Hotel often hosts events and parties so be aware of the potential for noise. Very cool lobby and elevators move quick. However if a large group is checking out it can be a five minute wait for elevators. The good news is elevators are on the inside and won’t be heard from the rooms. There is also potential of some sirens off the busy streets. Rooms are pretty clean and comfortable.
I enjoyed my stay here. The architecture looked amazing which was great for some quick pictures (Hunger Games was filmed here). The rooms were comfortable and clean. The pool however, is closed at this time. But I asked for a complementary upgrade and they gave me a premium room on the top floor with floor to ceiling windows and an amazing view of downtown. The elevator ride to the top was quick and offered a great view of the hotel. Overall, the hotel was great.
This was a strong 4-star hotel in the heart of Atlanta. The rooms were a bit small and didn’t offer much more than what standard rooms offered, but the service was very good and the location was perfect for our needs in downtown. I especially was pleased with the value, given the amenities offered at the hotel and the room rate. The views from the higher floors are lovely. I would stay here again!!!
The hotel could use a bit of an update, however, the staff will make sure your stay goes off without a hitch. In town for a conference, I found the Marquis to be close enough to all the action I'd want downtown without being right on top of things. I came the same weekend as the annual SEC conference game and the hotel didn't seem to have any trouble handling all the volume. The rooms were clean and of decent size. I had a small problem with my initial room but the staff quickly found me another (with a similar view). The gym is accessible 24/7, which worked out for me after late dinners made me feel I needed to work somethings off. I cannot speak for peak hours, but check-in was quick and easy for me in the later part of the evening. I did not have a car so won't comment on parking, but based on comments that might be something worth factoring into your decision. There is a subway (Marta) stop a block or two away.
I had an excellent stay at this Marriott hotel in Atlanta. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and always ready to help. The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, making it easy to relax after a long day. The hotel amenities were top-notch, and the location was very convenient, close to everything I needed. What truly stood out was the exceptional customer service—every interaction felt genuine and thoughtful. I highly recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay here again when visiting Atlanta.
Great 4 star hotel! The architecture is amazing----1st atrium hotel! Love the downtown location. Clean and minimalist almost room. Super friendly staff. Love it and will def stay here again. Quick walk to the aquarium and world of coke. 44th floor the city view was WOW! Love love the shower!
