The Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria is generally well-located for visitors to Truist Park, but frequently receives mixed reviews reflecting outdated facilities and inconsistent service. While some guests appreciate the friendly staff and convenient location, recurring concerns center around cleanliness issues, dated room conditions, and surprising fees like parking. Recent reviews highlight problems such as smoke damage, mold sightings, and malfunctioning amenities.
Well placed hotel. Upgrades are so needed. Bed was comfortable but a little hard. The frame looked like it had seen better days. The bathroom is incredibly small. The toilet and vanity was made for shorter individuals. Windows could use a cleaning on the outside.
5 starts for the gym which is one of the best I have ever seen in a hotel. However it’s too hot ! The air conditioning doesn’t work very well, especially in the biking room. The breakfast is definitely oversalted and too sweet. Nothing is natural except the fruits. The nuts are caramelized or salty, the oat grits was super salty, the scramble eggs too… But the service is great. The food at the restaurant is ok.
We booked a deluxe suite and the room was not a deluxe suite. When we arrived, we only had 1 towel and 1 rag. We did not have a microwave and had to consistently go downstairs to warm our food. We were supposedly charged for the wifi that we NEVER used which was crazy, because the wifi should have been free from the jump. We were informed that the incidental charges were $50 a night (we stayed 2 nights) but my card statement didn’t reflect that. However, on the morning of February 15th we were woken up out of our sleep due to the smell of smoke. Someone smoked in the hotel and it was extremely strong and not once were we accommodated for it. Parking was extremely far from the entrance as well, which was a horrible inconvenience. The exterior/interior was nice, however our stay was not. I wouldn’t recommend.
Staff were really friendly and great service. Good location for Braves games. The hotel overall is in need of updating. In my opinion the beds are too hard. Breakfast buffet was ok but the scrambled eggs not so great. They have a huge parking lot but charge 29 dollars a day to park. With the prices that Marriott charges these days for their rooms it is ridiculous to add that much on for parking. I understand if it is in the middle of the city and using parking lots that don’t belong to them, but this is ridiculous.
Was here on a corporate trip and there was black mold in the bathrooms and bedrooms that made me sick for over a week and caused hives, there were girls playing sing dong ditch and screaming and running in the hallway in the middle of the night and no one asked them to stop. There are very few cameras in the building and almost none overlooking the parking lot so good luck if you get your car broken into. On my last day, room service woke us up at 7am by knocking like their life depended it and yelling housekeeping.. This happened like 10x. The front desk employees were very friendly and helpful so that is the bright side of this place, but the hotel itself is really old and given its prime location close to truist park could use renovation.
The hotel and especially the rooms are very worn down and will apparently be renovated soon, but that is no excuse for the cleanliness and things like outlets falling out of the wall. The bathroom was kind of gross upon check in and the room had no fridge although one was brought to our room when we called the front desk. There was also mold on the bathroom ceiling and no fan. Room service breakfast was good but brought without silverware/napkins/straw and by the time I got silverware it was cold. Also all in disposable to go containers which is not what I would expect from a “4 star” hotel or for the price of the food. We also were woken up by the alarm clock in a room ACROSS the hall, very thin walls and old doors that don’t seal 100 percent. This did not feel like staying at a marriot. The restaurant is also only open sometimes and there didn’t seem to be anything else walkable.
Loved the excise room! So many items to use & loved the water machine. Rooms were clean. Only a small issue was fridge- it wasn't level & our stuff would fall out when we open the door. Other than that - we enjoyed our stay
Came up to visit family for Christmas. It’s a nice place to stay, and the fitness room is A1; I just wish the rooms were a little bit more modern and had a microwave. Other than that, all was good ?
Incredibly disappointed with my experience here. No hot water for 5 days straight, only to be told there’s nothing they can do and no full refunds. After being verbally promised points for my inconvenience, I was given the runaround on 3 follow-up attempts. With the following attempt them telling me they will “no longer honor their original commitment” Unfortunate way to run an establishment and terrible way to treat a Titanium Elite member who has stayed 153 nights at Marriott this year. DO NOT recommend this hotel to stay at. I’ve stayed across the US and ATL, this is the absolute worse hotel you could choose. They will give you their word, then go back on it.
Stayed at this property recently it’s older the rooms are old and need an update . Buffet was closed so we ordered breakfast it was actually really good better than expected. However the manager was very rude at first we thought it was the restaurant manager but it was actually the food and beverage director and he was very rude and seemed like he did not want answer any of our questions . His attitude was horrible and the service could have been better .
