The Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria receives mixed reviews, with guests praising its convenient location near Truist Park and its well-equipped gym. However, recurring concerns include dated room conditions, cleanliness issues, inconsistent service, and unexpectedly high fees like parking. Recent reviews highlight problems with room quality, staff responsiveness, and cleanliness, suggesting ongoing maintenance needs.
Hotel was the perfect place to stay for a Braves game. I really enjoyed the continental breakfast. Only complaint was that there was a large group of unsupervised young little leaguers running wild in the lobby (e.g. barreling into guests and throwing baseballs) for several hours. No adult supervision and staff didn't adresss it. Seemed unsafe for both the kids and the guests. Tough situation for workers, but I think they need to review safety protocols.
Stayed at this Marriott around June 13 with a Colleague for work and I must say this is hands-down. The worst Marriott I’ve ever stayed at the rooms are outdated we went to Concierge and one of the appetizers was undercooked. We didn’t even bother telling the attendant we simply left and had no plans for returning the next morning we went to breakfast we had vouchers an older white gentleman. The manager questioned us about where we got the vouchers and seems suspicious of us being there, however, a white family came and he sat them immediately and did not question them and they had vouchers. it was very obvious there was preferential treatment his hospitality sucked. However, there was another woman who was very nice and helped us overall the food was just OK. The eggs were bland. I would not stay at this property again.
I was part of the group staying at this hotel when the incident described in another review occurred. On our second night, we were awakened around 1:20 a.m. by someone knocking on our door claiming to be security. As a group of women traveling together, being startled awake by an unexpected knock in the middle of the night was unsettling and immediately raised concerns about our safety. What was most disappointing was the hotel’s response afterward. We were told there had been some type of system issue and that staff needed to verify the room was occupied, but there was never a clear explanation of exactly what happened or why this situation required someone to come to our door instead of simply calling the room. At no point did we receive a sincere apology. When I spoke with the manager at checkout, I felt my concerns were dismissed. She referred to much of the situation as “hearsay” and stated that staff handled the situation the way they thought was best at the time. We explained how disruptive and alarming the experience had been and asked whether the night’s stay could be comped. The request was denied without any meaningful effort to resolve the issue. The overall impression was that sending security to knock on a guest’s door after 1:00 a.m. was considered normal practice, which was concerning. There were also other disappointments during the stay. Parking was $30 per night, which felt excessive for a hotel outside the city, and Wi-Fi was listed as complimentary for members, yet I still could not access it without being prompted to pay an additional fee. I chose this property because I generally associate Marriott with a higher standard of customer service and guest care. Unfortunately, this experience left me questioning that expectation. While the location is convenient, the lack of accountability, communication, and concern for guest comfort means I would not choose to stay here again.
Here for a work trip, would not recommend. Rooms are very dated and if you are on the freeway side of the hotel, very loud from traffic noise. Additionally, the AC units pulled in all the cigarette smoke from one of our neighbors balconies all night. Many of our attendees also complained of the rooms and have various issues. The conference rooms themselves were newer and decently laid out. Staff were also friendly.
Well placed hotel. Upgrades are so needed. Bed was comfortable but a little hard. The frame looked like it had seen better days. The bathroom is incredibly small. The toilet and vanity was made for shorter individuals. Windows could use a cleaning on the outside.
5 starts for the gym which is one of the best I have ever seen in a hotel. However it’s too hot ! The air conditioning doesn’t work very well, especially in the biking room. The breakfast is definitely oversalted and too sweet. Nothing is natural except the fruits. The nuts are caramelized or salty, the oat grits was super salty, the scramble eggs too… But the service is great. The food at the restaurant is ok.
We booked a deluxe suite and the room was not a deluxe suite. When we arrived, we only had 1 towel and 1 rag. We did not have a microwave and had to consistently go downstairs to warm our food. We were supposedly charged for the wifi that we NEVER used which was crazy, because the wifi should have been free from the jump. We were informed that the incidental charges were $50 a night (we stayed 2 nights) but my card statement didn’t reflect that. However, on the morning of February 15th we were woken up out of our sleep due to the smell of smoke. Someone smoked in the hotel and it was extremely strong and not once were we accommodated for it. Parking was extremely far from the entrance as well, which was a horrible inconvenience. The exterior/interior was nice, however our stay was not. I wouldn’t recommend.
Staff were really friendly and great service. Good location for Braves games. The hotel overall is in need of updating. In my opinion the beds are too hard. Breakfast buffet was ok but the scrambled eggs not so great. They have a huge parking lot but charge 29 dollars a day to park. With the prices that Marriott charges these days for their rooms it is ridiculous to add that much on for parking. I understand if it is in the middle of the city and using parking lots that don’t belong to them, but this is ridiculous.
I had a very disappointing experience at Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria on the night of February 14th, 2026 and will not be returning. I booked a Deluxe King room specifically because it was listed as having a refrigerator, which was important for us since we were traveling with our toddler and we had milk. The day before check-in, I called the hotel to confirm that the room we booked included a fridge. The woman I spoke with confirmed that it did and told me over the phone that she went ahead and assigned us a room number. When we arrived, the blonde woman who checked us in, whose name was Maud (or similar), did not explain anything. She simply handed me the room keys and said nothing else. There was no mention of any room change or difference from what I booked. When we entered the room, we discovered it was not the Deluxe King room we reserved. Instead, we were placed in a bottom-floor handicap accessible room with two queen beds and no refrigerator. This was completely different from what we booked and confirmed the day prior. I immediately called the front desk and spoke with a gentleman who told me there was nothing that could be done because the hotel was fully booked. He could not explain why I was assigned a different room than what I reserved, other than that the hotel was booked, nor could he explain why I was told the day before that my booked room included a fridge and was already assigned. There was no accountability or effort to resolve the situation. Because the hotel refused to fix the issue, I had to contact Expedia myself to resolve the problem and request a full refund. Expedia ultimately handled the situation and refunded me, but the hotel took no responsibility. The lack of communication, inaccurate information, and unwillingness to help a guest, especially one traveling with a child, was unacceptable. I will never stay at this property again and would not recommend it to others.
Was here on a corporate trip and there was black mold in the bathrooms and bedrooms that made me sick for over a week and caused hives, there were girls playing sing dong ditch and screaming and running in the hallway in the middle of the night and no one asked them to stop. There are very few cameras in the building and almost none overlooking the parking lot so good luck if you get your car broken into. On my last day, room service woke us up at 7am by knocking like their life depended it and yelling housekeeping.. This happened like 10x. The front desk employees were very friendly and helpful so that is the bright side of this place, but the hotel itself is really old and given its prime location close to truist park could use renovation.
