The Moxy Atlanta Midtown offers a trendy and vibrant hotel experience in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. Guests consistently praise its stylish design, lively atmosphere, and convenient location, particularly for exploring the city. However, recent reviews highlight issues with inconsistent service, parking difficulties, and security concerns.
Warning: Personal items stolen from the room I writing this review to share my recent experience at this hotel. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with my recent (02/12 - 02/16) stay. When I was out exploring the city and came back to my room, It was cleaned, bedsheets tucked in and my shopping bag (with all my shopping from the previous day) was missing. I immediately reported this to the management, but the situation was not handled with the urgency or care I expected nor I was offered anything to compensate for my loss. I was told by the staff that this isn't the first time this has happened. I would strongly advise future guests to use the in-room safe for everything and stay cautious or reconsider staying here until they address their security and staffing protocols.
The rooms were fine. Loose toilet seat, Barn style bathroom door which really isn't very private and the strangest room doors. The top half for glass that they had covered was some kind of contact paper, but you could still see light from the room from the outside around the cracks for the contact paper didn't completely cover the window. Clean place, reasonable price considering it's location.
Do you ever get so excited about a place that it's hard to find the words?! Meet Moxy, my new favorite place to stay in Atlanta for a staycation. Shhh...don't tell the other hotels. I recently planned a little staycation for myself for a couple nights over New Years and Moxy was the perfect place. From the people I spoke to on the phone before arriving, to QD, the first staff person I met upon checking in, they were all incredibly welcoming. Check in was easy and at the bar. You get a voucher for a free cocktail or drink upon arrival. Now that's a welcome! I also received vouchers for a free breakfast buffet which is at the adjoining hotel next door. I'm not sure how often they give out free breakfast vouchers, but it was another small touch that added to my almost perfect stay. I don't want to forget to mention that they have an above average coffee nook in the lobby. This is not your traditional hotel lobby. The bar is in the center and there is ample, various seating throughout the spacious room. There are many games to play such as giant Jenga or Connect Four, a small market area with snacks for purchase, and adorable photo op areas. My room was clean, chic, and minimal and had a great view of the city. I appreciated the space and design of my ADA room that included a lovely shower. Often hotel beds are hard and uncomfortable to me, but this bed was extremely comfortable. The tv had the ability to sign in to some of my streaming services such as Netflix, yes please for relaxing. On New Years Eve, they had a celebration in the lobby with free bites and champagne. I enjoyed everything I tried and loved the music and vibe. I didn't want to take away a star as my whole visit (minus the parking) was superior, but the terrible parking impacted my experience. I didn't let it ruin my time, but it was frustrating to say the least. Parking is not owned by the hotel and I'm not sure if they are able to change that as the parking is connected. In theory, you are supposed to be able to scan in and out. However, both times I came in and out, it did not work. I was told I had to call the hotel desk and ask them to email the parking place to tell them I had paid and wait at least 5 mins for that to come through, then drive back up and let them know my name and room number. Unfortunately, when I tried to call the hotel front desk, it would just hang up and not connect. I had to drive back in, park, and walk into the hotel to give them this info. Before I left that day, there was another person standing at the desk with the same problem and staff told me they had continued problems that day. I had the same issue on my second day. Doing some reading online, this was not the only day this problem occurs. I would hope they find some type of solution as this takes away from such a wonderful experience.
The hotel looks nice and it's clean but the walls were so thin, even on a night where i didn't see many people it was extremely noisy. While I don't think my neighbors were completely over the top loud, I could hear every single word and movement as if they were in our own room as well as the footsteps and life in the room above until well after 3am. Never had this before and I travel a lot! Couldn't even drown it out with my own TV noise , so that's a hotel flaw for sure.
Overall good and bold hotel, provides all required facilities. My room dint have the cupboard, which was a bummer, however provides spacious room with hair dryer and steam iron. Has a bar and restaurant at the entrance and few photo booth as well. Location is good and accessible to all major offices and downtown area.
Had a fantastic wedding weekend experience with the A-C & Moxy Team, the Hotel facilities and the walking distance venues, restaurants and entertainment. From preplanning to actually hosting 100+ guests, Marva and Shanika offered extra special attention to details… and kept offering more and more assistance, even after our wedding guests had departed. So happy to look back on the weekend and just smile with great memories at the Moxy Bar, the check-in welcome bags, the incredible convenience of South City Kitchen and The Wimbish House. Could have not ask for a better set-up or more positive energy from all the staff of A-C & Moxy. THANK YOU!
Our stay at the hotel was enjoyable overall, fun, comfortable, and problem-free until checkout. We had booked and fully paid for our 3-night stay through Costco Travel. However, when we were checking out, the front desk agent attempted to charge us an additional $730 for the same three nights. I showed her the Costco Travel confirmation showing the full payment, and after some back-and-forth, she said she would only charge us for parking, which should have been $114. She assured us the correct receipt would be emailed. After returning home, we did receive a receipt for $114, but my credit card was actually charged $429.87. I called the hotel, and they told me they would investigate and call me back within ten minutes. That call never came. A few days later, I called again and spoke with the manager, who told me he needed ten minutes to process the refund. Until now, still no refund, no update. The lack of transparency, the incorrect charges, and the poor communication after checkout were extremely disappointing and overshadowed an otherwise pleasant stay. I hope the hotel resolves this issue promptly and improves their billing and customer service process. Won't return again!
We stayed at the moxy on a few different occasions. My husband and I enjoy staying here whenever we want to visit Atlanta and we want something to do without having to plan a whole itinerary. The moxy have a nice rooftop restaurant that occasionally have a dj, they have a nice pool, and their check in area doubles as a bar. They give you welcome drinks on arrival. Be aware of the rooms. The moxy concept is hip/stylish, and the rooms are sort of dorm style. There are no irons or ironing board. They have a room on each floor to iron. They do not have any microwave in any rooms.
I stay at Moxy Atlanta regularly for work and I’ve always had good stays. My most recent stay, there was an issue with the noise from upstairs. Zay from security made it his mission to find me a room where I could find some peace and quiet after my long workdays. His customer service was 5-star and you can tell he really cares! Thank you Moxy for a great hotel with a vibe like no other.
I loved my stay here. However when i went to grab a small salad from downstairs the lettuce was pink! Every single part of it was pink and made me kind of sick. I loved the hotel and the service was amazing up until i got a little snack. I just wish i didn’t eat a salad that had expired. they gave me a new salad after i told them, other than that the hotel is very clean, service is very nice and the employees are friendly.
