The Burgess Hotel in Atlanta receives mixed reviews, with significant praise for its stylish design, friendly staff, and excellent bar and restaurant. However, recent guest experiences highlight concerns regarding inconsistent room cleaning, outdated HVAC units, and a lack of responsiveness from some staff members. Despite some problems, many guests find the hotel a pleasant and unique experience.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at The Burgess Hotel, a Marriott property located at 3600 Piedmont Road NE, Atlanta, GA. I checked in on Monday, May 11, 2026, and at no point did the front desk explain that room cleaning or housekeeping service needed to be specifically requested. As a result, my room was never cleaned on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. After returning from work around 8:30 PM, I came back to an untouched room, which is completely unacceptable for what is marketed as a high-end Marriott property. I contacted the General Manager, Yannick Gwet, regarding the issue. His response was to offer housekeeping service at that late hour, which was not convenient after a full workday. When I explained this, instead of understanding the concern, he became argumentative and attempted to blame COVID policies. COVID has not been a valid excuse for years, and it certainly should not be used to justify poor communication and lack of accountability. I travel weekly for my career and stay in Marriott properties constantly as a Titanium Member. This is the first Marriott hotel where I have experienced such poor customer service and lack of professionalism. Business travelers like myself are not vacation guests, we are loyal, repeat customers who keep these hotels operating year-round. The fact that no restitution or effort to make things right was offered speaks volumes about the management at this property. It is frustrating to see a hotel claim to be upscale while failing to provide the most basic expectation: a clean room and proper customer service. I did not receive any discount or compensation despite the hotel’s failure to deliver what was paid for. I do not recommend The Burgess Hotel in Atlanta, GA. If management continues to rely on excuses instead of accountability and customer care, this property will continue to decline. Guests deserve better communication, better service, and better treatment, especially loyal Marriott members.

Part of Marriott's Tribute line, this place is overall quite nice. Lobby and rooms are nicely decorated. Service was excellent. We didn't eat there, but the restaurant must be good because it was packed every night with both guests and non-guests. The bar was a hopping place. Three slight negatives. Parking is expensive whether valet or self park. Breakfast is not included. And, if you're trying to get out of the parking lot headed north on Piedmont Road, good luck.

This hotel is not only beautiful but the staff is extraordinary! My flight out of Atlanta ended up getting cancelled and I had to stay overnight unexpectedly. I am so glad I chose this hotel for this unexpected stay! The manager, Yannick, checked me in himself and was extreme friendly and welcoming, offering me chocolate while checking in. Once he learned my situation (I didn’t have my checked luggage so basically only had what was in my backpack), he not only hand delivered a dental pack but also had a robe and slippers sent to my room so that I could relax comfortably. Finally, the bartender was also stellar in letting me order a glass of wine just past closing time. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel, and honestly I may book a weekend trip to Atlanta just to come stay here again and enjoy the property. Thank you, Burgess Hotel and Yannick for making my bad travel day so much better!

Wanted to love this hotel. Location was great! However, desk staff was not what used to from Tribute collection. They were not very informed or helpful. Was looking tor an electric car charge option and dining recommendations. Was told to “ look on the internet like they would have to do” . We were there for 3 days.. Fitness center was to the cleanest and the water dispenser empty. Probably the biggest issues were the sheets and pillows ( firm cotton). They were not soft or comfortable. The room was dark and the air conditioner was loud. Housekeeping was consistent and did a nice job. We ate breakfast and dinner at the on site restaurant and it was nice. Decor of the hotel was lovely! So overall mixed review. Would not stay again.

I guess you can put lipstick on a pig. The hotel common areas are beautiful and the service was for the most part, pretty good but the guys of the hotel are really poor. The hotel is a former Hampton Inn or the like. They still have the old attached to the wall on the floor HVAC units. The first room we were in, the unit made a huge rattling noise every time it kicked on. So loud we ask to move rooms. The next, we could never get the room below 72 degrees and by that point, it wasn’t worth moving again. I’d visit the restaurant FIA and have a drink at the pretty bar but avoid staying in the rooms.

We chose to stay here because we were doing a birthday dinner at Hal’s down the road. We were able to walk back from dinner, which was great. Upon arriving, we were greeted by a very pleasant gentleman at the door who helped us with our baggage and parking our car. We then went inside and the gentleman at the front desk was wonderful to deal with and super helpful. The bar was great. The rooms were beautiful. We will definitely be back if we’re in the area.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Burgess Hotel. The first thing I noticed was how proactively friendly the team was any time I was leaving or returning to the hotel. Everyone spoke to me. The room was clean and comfortable and since the large room window face the highway, it had appropriate shades to block out the lighting and create privacy. I usually venture out a bit more but didn't have enough time and found myself enjoying the bar and lounge as well as the restaurant. This place seems to be a neighborhood favorite too. I only had one issue and the bartender, I believe her name was Kayla, went above and beyond to correct it. I will definitely be staying there again.

I've stayed at The Burgess many, many times over the past year. It is absolutely one of the greatest hotel finds. Here's why...... 1. Very cool, hip vibe from the lobby to the bar to the rooms. Lots of attention to detail with the decor & many ties to the owners' family history. 2. Reasonable pricing for the prime location 3. People are outstanding -André, Josh, Donna, Nelson at the front desk are so welcoming & helpful -Mark, Kayla & Jaime at the bar make killer cocktails -Melinda is a great server at Fia restaurant -The owner and head chef is very gifted & also humble and welcoming 4. Fia Restaurant has amazing food. Locals frequent the bar, Mr. B as well as Fia, and everyone raves. Lamb shank, burger, charred octopus, garbanzo curry stew are all great dishes. 5. Rooms are comfortable, clean & functional No surprise that they won the Tribute Portfolio Hotel of the Year for 2024! Basically everyone there makes me feel like family, and I can't wait to go back. Thanks, Burgess staff for always making me feel like I'm "home."
