The Canopy by Hilton Atlanta Midtown consistently receives positive feedback for its convenient Midtown location, proximity to attractions like the SCAD campus and Atlantic Station, and generally clean and comfortable rooms. However, recent reviews highlight inconsistencies in service, outdated amenities, and concerns regarding parking costs and occasional room maintenance issues.
The hotel was amazing. Very soft beds, pillows could be better but that's not a problem. The room was very clean and I fell in love with the shower. Access with a key card to the floors was very nice. All the staff I interacted with was incredible and went above and beyond to help with any requests we had. David at the front desk was awesome! So was the lady during the morning shift, I couldn't catch her name, otherwise I would be giving her a shout-out by name on here. Even the employees at the door were very nice and helpful. I really loved my stay here and would definitely recommend for others to try out the hotel. I will definitely be coming back again. I liked it so much that I ended up getting the wooden key card as a souvenir from the front desk lol.
Stayed here for SCADday. Perfect location- very walkable to the SCAD campus, great resturants and Atlantic Station, all with just a few blocks. The room was very clean, staff was very friendly and so helpful-from the valet guys to the front desk staff. The only very minor issue was tge weird "master lightswitch". Feast or famine with lighting in the room, apparently. Hint- there is a plug-in nightlight in the bathroom that you can move at night. Joanne in the resturant was absolutely a peach! Service with a smile every time we came in. It was our choice for food because of her. Absolutely recommend it. We will stay again when we move our daughter in this fall.
This is my second time staying at this hotel. It's just okay. I would expect better service from front desk staff at a Canopy. Additionally as a Diamond member, but ya know....everyone is a diamond member these days. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms are nice. The pillows are standard issue Hilton pillows and they suck. The next morning, after checking in the night before, if the hotel had foam pillows. The gentleman at the front desk said yes and he said he would have them put in the room. Ummmm, that didn't happen. Valet parking is the only option at the hotel and it's pricey, so just be prepared for that if you have a rental car. We never had an issue getting our vehicle quickly. This is probably be the last time to stay at this property.
We stayed at the Canopy by Hilton from Friday through Sunday, and from start to finish, the experience reminded us what genuine hospitality is supposed to feel like. From the moment we arrived, the staff set the tone. Even though their systems were unexpectedly down during our stay, the team handled the situation with professionalism, patience, and grace. There was no visible frustration, no passing stress onto guests—just calm, steady problem-solving and an unwavering focus on customer care. Three team members in particular stood out: Stacey, Jemila, and David. Despite the challenges they were facing behind the scenes, they delivered what can only be described as spectacular customer service. They remained composed throughout the entire process, communicated clearly, and made sure guests still felt valued and taken care of.
As Hilton Gold, I’ve stayed at many properties. This was probably my least favorite Canopy experience, and would choose a different accommodation for future Atlanta trips. Positives- 1. Amazing location: easy access to the Arts Center MARTA stop, and close proximity to the High Museum of Art & Colony Square (plenty of great dining!) 2. Room was similar to other Canopy properties in terms of look/aesthetic. Good size. Areas for Improvement - 1. We had the sleep/do not disturb sign outside of our door, and they came in and serviced the room anyways. That is a huge red flag. When you’re paying over $400 for an accommodation, a request for privacy should be honored. 2. Had to ask 2x for food/beverage credits to be applied. Attention to detail of staff could be improved. 3. Some of the staff we interacted with could benefit from further hospitality training. However, the woman who was working at Xhibit for breakfast service was very kind and top-notch.
Front desk representative lied to us about our room(corner suite) not having a refrigerator included claimed the fridge was a "cooler". Maintenance representative told us she was lying and it was just broken and we found that very odd. The very flat comforter also was substantially discolored and in no duvet cover which did not make me feel clean. Otherwise uneventful stay. Amex credit only applies to hotel food and beverage, staff was unable to apply it to the parking in which I've never had a problem with before. Valet was very quick and efficient despite that, very thankful for the valet staff. Also great locational value.
Easily the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I am never booking with a Hilton again because of this place. My toilet wouldn’t refill water so I had to manually put water into the tank every time. Told the front desk and the old lady that was working up there (I think her name started with a J) told me to “Just deal with it and go back to your room”. Another employee called maintenance but he just talked to me and didn’t fix the problem. Definitely not worth the cost at all and I am recommending to everyone to not book with Hilton because of this.
Stayed here for 5 nights recently. Since I wanted to see the High Museum of Art and concerts at the Atlanta Symphony Hall, this was very conveniently located. It is also borderline walkable to a Whole Foods. One thing to note about it's entrance - it's on 18th St NW, so if your Uber is dropping you off on W Peachtree St, you might not be able to get in through the restaurant, like what happened to me when I checked in late at night. Check in (and out) was efficient and quick, likely helped by the odd hours I did that. Room acceess is via keycards, and as the photos will show, the room is in good condition, even though I found the bed and pillows way too soft for my liking. It was nonetheless still quite comfortable. Room A/C is nice and strong, with even the option to switch to Celcius for foreigners like me (or are we called aliens?). My only problem with the room was that refrigerator was not provided, only an unpowered cold box. There is a nice large TV in room, even though I didn't use it much, and it welcoms you with your name on it. Shower was nice and hot if you so desire, and water pressure was sufficient. Housekeeping comes in daily for quick cleans,. unless you put a DND on the door. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and will be happy to choose this hotel again in the future.
This is a really nice location. Everything was perfect including parking. Miguel at the front desk was extremely pleasant to work with and even accommodated an early check in because we flew in. We really appreciated that. I offered a tip, but he declined and just thanked me for being kind. The Hotel was super clean and tidy shout out to the cleaning Lady Juana. Also, the manager Dre was super cool. We had a quick interaction, but pleasant. There was a discrepancy with our parking bill, but he was able to go in and correct it right away with out issue. DRE thank you so much. The company is lucky to have you as an employee. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.
The best part of this Canopy Midtown location is Jarrett Major! He went above and beyond to ensure my partner and I felt comfortable and he was the reason we decided to extend our stay by an extra 3 days! He’s kind, well spoken and has shown exemplary customer service throughout our stay. There was a mix up with an order I had delivered but Jarrett and general manager Scott again went above and beyond to make sure I received the misplaced items in a timely fashion. The rooms are gorgeous, clean and nearby Atlantic Station makes for easy shopping and grocery store runs. I’m thankful to have stayed here before leaving for an out of town conference and hope to visit again.
