Guests consistently praise the elegant accommodation, flawless service, and prime location in Buckhead, often highlighting personalized touches for special occasions. However, several recent reviews indicate operational issues ranging from inconsistent billing and unresponsive communications to in-room amenities that fail to meet standard luxury expectations.
Service best in Atlanta. Especially the food staff for events and the head Shrone from the the moment I walked in to the last day of our conference! The entire staff goes an extra mile and then some for their guests. All courteous, kind, smiles on the faces, extremely helpful. You can’t go wrong with this place for your next event, conference, or stay 5 stars across the board NO COMPLAINTS! BOOK THEM YOU WONT REGRET IT!
We recently stayed at the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta while attending a conference, which also happened to fall on my wife’s birthday. From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. The hotel itself is elegant, beautifully maintained, and perfectly located in Buckhead with convenient access to everything we needed. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and welcoming. The beds were extremely comfortable and made it easy to relax and recharge after long conference days. What truly set this stay apart, however, was the staff. Every team member we encountered went out of their way to make my wife feel celebrated. From warm birthday wishes throughout our stay to a wonderful surprise dessert tray waiting in our room upon arrival, the attention to detail was outstanding and deeply appreciated. A special thank you to Elijah at the front desk, who went above and beyond to ensure this was a memorable birthday and trip for both of us. His professionalism, kindness, and genuine care made all the difference. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta to anyone looking for luxury paired with truly top notch service.
Had 3-night stay! The location was perfect and the staff was welcoming and accommodating right from the moment I checked in. My room was spotless, quiet, and had a very comfortable bed. Fast Wi-Fi, meetings and conference room facilities were excellent. Definitely recommend for any business. Highly recommended!
Had an amazing experience during my one year anniversary stay! Very comfortable room and spacious bathroom. We were even lucky to snag restaurant and bar credits, along with breakfast passes. Special thank you to Eric for making our weekend a memorable one - will book again soon!
The employees were great and the hotel looks nice but it does not feel nice. I just stayed here for a conference. The biggest issue was the water temperature. In the room, the sink was ok because it had two handles--one cold and one hot. But the shower was scalding and would stay scalding until the faucet was almost turned off, at which point it would be freezing. I had to keep alternating to be able to shower. And it clearly wasn't just my room as the sinks in the public bathrooms on the ground floor were all freezing all the time. So much so that others commented on it. It was very cold outside this weekend, but the main lobby of the hotel didn't seem to have heat. It always felt like the doors were open, but they weren't. These are not the type of problems a luxury hotel should present. On top of that, the mattress was too hard and the pillows too soft. I get this is subjective, but especially when there's 4 pillows on a bed there's no reason to have 4 pillows that are all too soft. I would definitely not recommend paying a premium for this hotel. These issues are ones I'd expect from one where you're paying a tenth of the price.
Hosted a wedding here! Everything was so well done. Props to Denzel on the day of who was the best person you could ask for! He knew everything and was the most cool and calm person. Brian was helpful from the start and very accommodating making our lives easier! Thanks to the entire team at Intercontinental!
Room was clean but rundown considering it’s masquerading as a five star hotel. We stayed in a two queen, high floor, city view. The view was nice and the garage, though expensive, was safe. Reception was a rote script. The room was cheap looking with holes in the bed’s thin duvet and sheets. Scuffs on walls and tear in the headboard gave it a neglected feel. It was more Holiday Inn and less Intercontinental which made it a poor value considering the price point. We only stayed one night and I don’t enjoy moving rooms once unpacked, so we didn’t complain; we’ll just stay elsewhere when returning to Atlanta. I guess it’s adequate if you need to book a conference. Restaurant got lackluster reviews so we didn’t even try it and ate at a nearby restaurant instead. Buckhead is a pleasant area, but we’ll try another hotel in the future.
??????½ (3.5/5) — InterContinental Buckhead Check-in & Service Check-in was decent overall, but one of our two key cards didn’t work for either the elevator or the room, which meant going back downstairs to have it reactivated—an unnecessary annoyance. Parking is also ridiculously expensive. The valet staff were honestly the highlight of the service experience—friendly and genuinely kind. Other interactions, from the front desk to most restaurant staff, were polite but noticeably cold and lacking warmth or enthusiasm. Room Layout & Design I was surprised there were no teas available in the coffee/tea area. Bathrobes and slippers were advertised on the website but weren’t in the room; we had to call to request robes, which ended up being thin, inexpensive-feeling waffle robes. The feather pillows were comfortable but very soft—may not suit everyone. The bed itself was comfortable, though a plusher duvet would’ve been appreciated during winter for a cozier feel. Bathroom Bathroom amenities were Byredo, which is fine. The bathroom was spacious, but the layout could’ve been improved with an additional door separating the toilet/shower from the vanity area. The faucet hardware was finicky and made it annoying to get the water temperature just right. Spa & Fitness Center There was no attendant at the spa, and the fitness center is oddly hidden behind spa signage, which can be confusing to find. The gym itself was decent and well-stocked with towels, but sanitary wipes were missing during our first visit. Housekeeping Housekeeping was solid—our room was clean, and we really appreciated them tidying our space and folding our clothes after a long day out. Each day they knocked to deliver complimentary ice, chocolate, and water. While thoughtful, it was confusing since we hadn’t ordered anything and didn’t initially realize it was complimentary. Restaurant & Food Breakfast was disappointing. Despite having plenty of staff and not many guests, my order was still incorrect. The food felt overpriced for what it was—nothing memorable about the omelet, potatoes, or fruit. The grab-and-go Americano bar menu didn’t list juices or coffee options, which felt like a missed opportunity. On top of that, a 20% automatic gratuity is added to an already overpriced breakfast.. They did ended up returning or crediting it back. Dinner was better—the service staff were more knowledgeable and gave solid recommendations—but overall, we likely wouldn’t return for dining. Overall Impression I was expecting a more boutique, elevated experience and left feeling underwhelmed—especially given how excited we were for our stay. The hotel felt disconnected in several ways, both in service and operations, and lacked the cohesiveness you’d expect from a luxury hotel often labeled as one of the best in Atlanta. Overall, a bit disappointing. Its a great location in buckhead and super centralized but other than that, I wouldn’t consider it next time.
I stayed at the InterContinental for three nights for a conference and when I tell you the hotel and staff were great, I really mean it. They were beyond attentive to make sure I had everything I needed and was comfortable in my stay. My room had a beautiful view of Buckhead, overlooking Peachtree Road. I can't say much about the hotel's food beyond the food provided for the conference. As far as all of the conferences I've been to, their food was probably one of the best. Whether I come back to stay for work or for leisure, I am looking forward to another stay.
I had an excellent experience at the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and attentive. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt upscale yet comfortable. The room was spotless, spacious, and well-appointed with a very comfortable bed and great city views. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, and the location in Buckhead is perfect—close to great shopping, dining, and easy access to the rest of Atlanta. Amenities were top-notch, and the service truly stood out. Every interaction with staff made me feel valued and well taken care of. This is easily one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in Atlanta, and I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
