The Whitley Hotel consistently receives positive feedback for its cleanliness, attentive staff, and upscale ambiance. Guests particularly appreciate the comfortable rooms, convenient location near shopping and dining, and the overall luxurious experience. However, some reviews cite parking costs and occasional inconsistencies in dining services as areas for improvement.
The room was nice, and more importantly, the room was clean. I enjoyed the pool area as well. Even though it’s indoor, it wasn’t stuffy or smelled of chlorine like indoor pools usually do. The dinner was great. And the elite breakfast was amazing as well. My only dislike was the paid parking. The self parking area wasn’t even covered. But the self parking area was easily accessible, at least.
What a wonderful property. From the valet, to check in to cocktail hour to housekeeping service was attentive, friendly and professional. Our rooms were spacious and well decorated. The location is right across the mall, which would also be my only complaint - a wee bit noisy in the late evening. Fire Trucks, cars reving up their engines etc … but not enough to detour us from staying here again.
From the moment I arrived, this hotel exceeded every expectation. The staff greeted me with genuine warmth and professionalism, making check-in seamless and welcoming. Every detail—from the elegant lobby to the spotless, beautifully designed room—reflected a commitment to excellence. The room itself was a perfect blend of comfort and luxury. The bed was incredibly plush, the linens were fresh and high-quality, and the ambiance created a peaceful, relaxing retreat after a long day. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the well-stocked amenities and attention to cleanliness. What truly stood out was the level of service. Every staff member I encountered went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable. Whether it was quick responses to requests or helpful recommendations, their dedication did not go unnoticed. The hotel’s amenities were just as impressive—everything was well-maintained, inviting, and designed with the guest experience in mind. It’s clear that pride is taken in every aspect of this property. Overall, this was more than just a stay—it was an experience. I would absolutely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and exceptional service.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at The Whitley. Every staff member was accommodating and friendly. Upon arrival, the valet was kind and gave us time to let my toddler finish out his car nap. Valet is prompt and only $12 more than the self park nearby, so we just went with valet. Our first room was very hot and didn’t seem to be cooling off when we turned the thermostat down, so they immediately sent up maintenance and just switched us to a new room of equal, maybe even bigger, square footage. The pool was clean and towels were stocked. My only complaint was that my chicken sandwich for dinner was extremely dry as well as the waffles and biscuits at breakfast, but it’s probably hard not to have things dry out with a buffet style brunch. Our experience was still very nice with dining and all other orders were good. Coffee is provided in the lobby in the mornings, until about 10am. The club lounge is closed on the weekends, so if you’re concerned with using it for breakfast or snacks during your stay, make sure to stay on weekdays. We had a club level room, but stayed over the weekend so we didn’t get to use the lounge. I never actually cash in on my upgrades each year anyways so it didn’t bother me as I needed to switch from a king to 2 queens, so it was still a useful upgrade to me and a pretty view.
I spent 8 days there. Perfect rooms and perfect location. Great just found the bar with very limited food options and very expensive compared to other restaurants from walking distance. The lounge on 18th floor is great but closed on Friday (close at 10:30am), closed Saturday and most Sunday, which is a pitty.
The Best Buckhead Sophistication: A Masterclass in Luxury ?? If you are seeking an experience that defines the "upper echelon," look no further than the bar and restaurant at The Whitley. This is quite simply the most exquisite destination in Atlanta for those who appreciate the finer things in life. ??? I recently visited and had a cocktail alongside their chicken wings—and when I tell you the sauce they have is absolutely amazing, I mean it is culinary perfection. Every bite and every sip reflects the high standards you expect from a Luxury Collection Hotel. ?? What truly sets The Whitley apart is the atmosphere. It is the perfect, versatile sanctuary. Whether you are looking for a polished corner to study or read, or a relaxing break to yourself, the ambiance is flawless. It is equally spectacular whether you are visiting with your husband, wife, or the entire family. The service is seamless, the environment is pristine, and the vibe is nothing short of extraordinary. It is perfect, perfect, perfect. If you want an upscale experience that is truly "never a miss," this is the only place to be. ?? #TheWhitley #BuckheadLuxury #AtlantaDining #UpperEchelon #LuxuryTravel #HiddenGemAtlanta #LuxuryLifestyle
I could not have asked for a more incredible experience staying at this hotel. I needed a room a bit last minute and the staff were so kind to me in my time of need, specifically Justin, who should be awarded employee of the year. If I find myself back in Atlanta, I guarantee that I will be booking my stay here as well as recommending to anyone I know needing a hotel in Atlanta. Thank you again Whitley. It was a comfortable and very relaxing stay.
I literally just checked in, and the experience already contradicts how this property markets itself. This stay was booked through American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts. Prior to arrival, the hotel confirmed an upgrade to a one bedroom executive suite. That confirmation set the expectation at check in. At the front desk, while collecting my room key, that upgrade was abruptly withdrawn and replaced with a standard deluxe room. No explanation was given. No apology was offered. No attempt was made to resolve or acknowledge the discrepancy. This is not a capacity issue communicated in advance. This is a last-minute reversal of a confirmed accommodation, executed casually and without accountability. For a hotel positioning itself as a Luxury Collection property, this is unacceptable. Luxury is not the lobby aesthetic or marketing language. It is operational integrity and honoring what is promised. If your first interaction with a guest involves undoing a confirmed upgrade without transparency, that sets the tone for the entire stay. So far, the tone is disappointing at best.
I've never been to a 5-star hotel before where a. the valet staff don't open the door for you, or b. don't assist you with your bags. It's okay. I didn't want to tip anyway. The rooms are nice. The hotel is nice. The location is solid. The valet staff makes me long for a future with robots. ALSO after discovering a billing discrepancy, we called the front desk. We were forwarded to someone (unclear who, accounting maybe; you always say who you're transferring a customer to) and then hung up on. After getting the manager on the phone and, justifiably upset having just been hung up on, explained the issue, only to be with a condescended to with a snide, sarcastic, "Well, Happy New Year, to you, too." How about, "I'm sorry this has happened. How can I make this right?" The hotel itself may be luxury, a holdout from its time as a Ritz-Carlton, but some of the staff (on duty manager on 1.3.26 at 1:50 pm and valet staff) are not clued in on the definition of luxury. I've stayed at Walford Astorias, Ritz Carltons, Mandarin Orientals, etc, and have never had to deal with nonsense like this. We'll be staying at the Waldorf-Astoria when we have to stay in Atlanta again next week. We'd considered the Whitley, even after the little bump with valet. But now? Forget it. Maybe someone from corporate will respond to my forthcoming email with a little more tact and professionalism and a, "I'm so sorry this has happened. How can I make this right?" That's luxury service.
Our stay was good. The bellman was excellent with his service. The front desk staff was great. Room service was great. The only downside is the restaurant which is poorly organized, over-crowded and staff don't pay attention to customers, I had to leave for significant wait time on our order, no one even apologized for the long wait time and had to ask the lady in the front for water and juice, no one checked on us in the meantime. It doesn't reflects as a restaurant in a 5 star hotel but rather looks like a poorly organized diner. Am giving them a 5 star due to the service of other staff apart from the restaurant and the great location and valet parking. The restaurant needs to up their game.
