The Hotel at Avalon consistently receives positive feedback for its prime location in the heart of Avalon, offering easy access to dining and shopping. Guests frequently praise the stylish design, comfortable rooms, and exceptional service, particularly highlighted by attentive staff like Lexy and Edith. However, some recent reviews have raised concerns about inconsistencies in service quality and cleanliness in certain areas.
Great location, comfortable rooms and relaxing spaces. Here for the TSP Live Conference and the hospitality energy is top notch from check-in to receiving concierge shuttle service to the local grocery store. It's been a welcomed surprise but this is what I expect from Marriott specifically the anchor hotel in the Avalon.
My recent work trip led me to The Hotel at the Avalon in Alpharetta, and I was fortunate to book it at an incredible rate. The experience truly lived up to its reputation-elegant, luxurious, and full of refined charm. The rooms were spacious and beautifully designed, with a plush, upscale feel that made it easy to settle in and relax. Its location right in the heart of the Avalon in is hard to beat, with shopping and dining just steps away. Everything you need is right outside the door, which made the stay even more enjoyable. I’m just hoping I’ll get lucky enough to find another great rate there again soon! ?
We've held events here for our charity and also have hated Baord Meetings and retreats. The hotel is spectacular, the location is convenient and offers so many shopping and dining experiences. The management team and staff have always been incredibly responsive and supportive of our needs. I can't say enough positive things about this Hotel. One of our absolute favorites!
The level of service and experience that I received was unfortunately not up to the standard advertised. I was very disappointed. The neighboring areas are nicer and more upscale, hence the near $300/night room rates. I was fine to pay this for the weekend knowing that I would be receiving a more elevated experience, however that was not the case. One morning, I ordered room service breakfast, I waited 30 minutes but still nothing arrived. I called to check on it, was told someone would be “right up,” only for it to arrive 15 minutes later with pink lipstick on my white coffee mug. At first, I thought it was a stain until it easily wiped off using my linen napkin. Disgusted, I called the front desk again and was told they would “talk to the manager about a discount.” Respectfully, I am never one to complain, but this was not something I would expect coming from a hotel of this caliber. I asked for the entire meal to be taken care of (which wasn’t anything crazy— two scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, and an oat milk latte). Upon checkout the next day, I made sure to ask for a receipt, and sure enough, the charges were still there. Thankfully, the front desk took care of it, but I am disappointed in the services of the hotel staff and the cleanliness of the services I received during my stay. The only redeeming quality of my stay were the lovely valet team, who were friendly, professional, and helpful.
Lexy made our stay absolutely incredible. From the moment we arrived, she went out of her way to make everything perfect. She helped us secure a beautiful room, had a thoughtful welcome gift waiting for us, and even left a handwritten note for us in the room. You can tell she genuinely cares and takes a lot of pride in what she does. It’s rare to come across someone who is this attentive and intentional about creating a great experience. Because of her, our stay was truly unforgettable. Can’t recommend the Hotel at Avalon enough, and a big thank you to Lexy for going above and beyond.
????? My recent stay at The Hotel at Avalon, Autograph Collection in Alpharetta, GA was absolutely exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the service was warm, polished, and attentive without being overbearing. The staff truly made me feel welcomed and valued. The property itself is stunning. The design is modern yet comfortable, with beautiful finishes throughout the lobby and common areas. My room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully appointed, with plush bedding and every detail carefully considered. It felt both luxurious and relaxing. The location is unbeatable. Being situated right in Avalon makes it incredibly convenient to walk to fantastic restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. Everything you could need is just steps away, yet the hotel still feels peaceful and private. The pool area is also a highlight, offering a great atmosphere to unwind. Whether traveling for business or a weekend getaway, this hotel delivers on comfort, style, and service. I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the Alpharetta area. I will absolutely be back.
I’ve always loved the atmosphere at the Shops at Avalon, and this hotel’s location makes it perfect for a staycation. Being able to step outside and immediately enjoy the restaurants and shops is such a luxury and makes the experience feel effortless. Especially having South City Kitchen onsite is a major plus. I’ve stayed here multiple times for that very reason. The pool vibe in the summer is great, and customer service has consistently been five-star. However, it’s clear this Autograph Collection property is no longer operating at a true four-star standard. Over the past two years, you can see the decline in photos and reviews alone. Torn curtains, worn bedding, clogged sinks, and decreased cleanliness don’t align with room rates ranging from $200 to $600. In addition hotel fees and valet parking will bring you to over $100+. Not only do they charge for valet, but self-parking is $22 — while shoppers park for free. It feels like nickel-and-diming. If you opt out of valet, be prepared to carry your own bags, as luggage carts are not made available. That’s not what you expect from a four-star experience. On top of that, some charges aren’t clearly communicated upfront — so if you’re arriving by Uber or not driving, be prepared. When guests book an Autograph Collection property, there’s an expectation of a certain elevated presence. Lately, it feels like that layer of service and refinement is missing. The location is phenomenal, and the return on rooms at these rates should absolutely allow for reinvestment into maintenance and upgrades. Without that, frustration among guests will likely continue. One small note for future guests: if you’re sensitive to noise, avoid second-floor rooms near the pool during the summer months, as it can get lively. I genuinely hope ownership reinvests into this property. With proper TLC and attention to maintenance and value alignment need attention. This hotel could easily return to the four-star Autograph experience it’s meant to deliver. My advice: watch the price before booking, the more you pay, the higher the expectations, and potentially the greater the disappointment if it doesn’t match the rate.
The team at Hotel Avalon was absolutely spectacular during my client’s recent gala, and I cannot say enough about the level of care and professionalism displayed from start to finish. What truly stood out to me as a wedding planner was how intentionally they took care of everyone involved. Beyond ensuring our client and guests had an exceptional experience, the Avalon staff went above and beyond to make sure the vendor team was comfortable, supported, and set up for success. That level of consideration is rare and speaks volumes about their service standards and leadership. A special shout-out to Carole Trulio for her attentiveness and leadership throughout the process. When a venue values collaboration and treats vendors with the same care as their clients, it makes all the difference and Hotel Avalon truly exemplifies that. I would gladly work with their team again and highly recommend them for weddings and special events.
Very nice hotel, located in a great shopping area. A wonderful place for a Staycation. The rooms are clean and nice. The beds were comfortable ...form, yet soft. I slept very well! There was a mini fridge and a coffee maker with Starbucks coffee in our room. There were two terry cloth robes. Not very soft, but perfect for using to dry off after a shower. The body products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion) smelled very nice. I like that they have tea and water with fruit available at all times near the lobby elevator. I also saw cookies being served in the lobby at dinner time. The restaurant is a bit expensive but the food is good. There's a Starbucks located in the building and it's very convenient. There is valet parking available or you can self park. There is a $22 fee for daily parking in their parking garage. It is convenient to lots of shopping.
Had a amazing time! Excellent hotel. Nice and clean. Everything is right in walking distance. The bar was really nice. The drinks were great and the bartender was very helpful with recommending drinks. The atmosphere is very cozy.
