The Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Airport South/Sullivan Road receives mixed reviews, with guests praising the staff and cleanliness but expressing concerns about room quality, inconsistent service, and outdated amenities. Recent reviews indicate a decline in service and facility upkeep, despite some positive experiences centered around helpful staff members.
This property was mediocre - rooms/restrooms could be updated significantly to make the hotel better. The polite/pleasant staff was the best part about the property - so mad props to the staff for doing their best! The gym was also pleasant/clean. Believe there are other/better Marriott Bonvoy properties in the area.
We had one of those days where everything that could go wrong did. I couldn’t board my flight to Italy because my passport had expired, and when we arrived at the hotel thinking I had a reservation, I realized I had mistakenly booked it for the next day while they were completely sold out. On top of that, every hotel in the area seemed to be fully booked. In the middle of all that stress, Stacy, the Operations Manager, truly stood out. She went above and beyond to help, treating us with such care and calm, like we were guests in her own home. While the entire team was kind and welcoming, Stacy’s empathy and determination made all the difference. She found a solution when it felt like there wasn’t one and turned a really overwhelming moment into something manageable. Grateful for her kindness and support, She was genuinely an angel on a very tough day!
The place is great but their downfall is there staff. Rude & unprofessional. I stayed there with my daughter after our vacation. Two strangers knocked on our door saying they got the room mixed up. Odd but I was okay until the staff told me they couldn’t let my food delivery up to bring me my food. Keep in mind that the front desk, suggested this restaurant, but didn’t mention that I would have to come down to the lobby to get my food. So there I was left with no other option in my pajamas, already nervous about the strange men knocking at my door, to walk me and my daughter who’s 8 to the lobby to get our food. I asked the front desk about the policy and she threatened to have me removed from the premises. I was terrified. But one of the male staff did walk us back. We went to sleep around 2 AM but then got a knock at our door at 8:30 by housekeeping then the lady made herself inside of the room. Woke me and my daughter up once again terrified. Keep in mind that checkout is at noon so I did not understand why she was in our room. She didn’t apologize she just left the room when she saw that we were there. I called the front desk to ask questions and they told me I should have put a do not disturb sign on my door. I was confused because every guest who paid their money should be able to get rest at least until checkout time. The front desk told me it’s their policy to check rooms, but I didn’t understand it because it was four hours before checkout. Overall, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever encountered traveling. I’ve always been told that Atlanta is one of the worst places for customer service and now I understand it.
My stay here was great. Rooms were clean, nice environment and staff were extremely pleasant. Jamare' at the front desk was tremendously helpful and provided excellent customer service!
My flight from Atlanta was canceled, and the airline placed me at this hotel. I stayed only a few hours and could not sleep. I left shortly after arriving and did not use the bathroom, shower, bed, or any amenities. Days later—after I had already left the country and was in Mexico—my “card on file” was charged without notice. I received no email, no explanation, and no receipt. I did not consume any minibar items, including the $8 water bottles. The charge appeared well after checkout with no communication. This experience raises serious concerns about billing practices.
I had an overnight layover here and booked the hotel based on good reviews of the availability of the shuttle. We arrived for the shuttle stop and 2 busses made stops with herds of passengers crowding onto the bus, and we couldn't get on until the 3rd shuttle bus made a stop which was right in front of us. In the middle of the night, we were woken up from the bed shaking. I don't know what machine was working and humming but the entire bed was low key vibrating for 10 mins. It was so strange.
Great hotel, cozy bed and had a very nice stay. Only two things to know. The bistro service isn’t the greatest so maybe Uber eats your food. In the rooms, the smoke detector has a bright blinking light - didn’t bother me really but found it odd. I slept well, would return!
When I came in, I went to Charmaine. I told her I needed to check-in. She asked for my ID and credit card. I told her I would not be paying for the room since it was for work. I handed her my ID. She looked at it and said "What is your name?" with an attitude. I told her. She said my name was not on the reservation and it would have to be added. So I called my boss and told him that. Meanwhile she writes out the 800# and says they need to call it to get it fixed. I said ok and went back to my car to wait. About 15 minutes later, my boss calls and says I have been checked in and everything is good. I walk back in and go to Jamary. I told him my name and he says I just got off the phone with someone about checking you in. You are good to go. Charmaine gave me the 800# for the hotel and the person less than 5 feet away from her answered the phone and fixed the issue. She should find another job if she doesn’t like working with guests. I was not disrespectful or giving attitude and she was completely rude.
I’m from Taiwan, and I stayed here for 16 nights. The front desk staff and breakfast staff were all very friendly and professional. The room was also cleaned very thoroughly. Thank you for making me, as a foreign visitor, feel so safe and comfortable during my stay.
As a VERY loyal Marriott Bonvoy member, I truly wish that I could leave a good review, but that’s not really possible with this location. The lobby? Beautiful. Rest of the place? Quite disappointing. The smell is not welcoming at ALL. Bed was like a brick. Pillows were flat & smelled like someone’s dirty head. Carpet dirty & smelly. Shuttle driver to the airport was so courteous though!
