The Atlanta Marriott Perimeter Center offers a convenient location near restaurants and MARTA, boasting a renovated lobby and a well-equipped fitness center. However, recent reviews highlight inconsistencies in room quality, particularly concerning cleanliness and plumbing issues, alongside issues with staffing attitudes and unexpected charges.
Great hotel. Everything is clean except for the general hallway areas on the floors. The place is nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Food is very good and the concierge lounge is excellent. Short walks to some great restaurants.
I’ve been a Marriott rewards member for 20+years and this was my first bad experience at a Marriott property. This is a Marriott in a lovely and convenient location but the rooms are closer to Motel 6, which is probably an insult to Motel 6. We’ve stayed at this property several times in the past but not in several years. Don’t let the lovely lobby fool you. It’s been renovated but the rooms need an overhaul and the front desk staff and management could care less. Perhaps they’re just worn out like the rooms in the place but there’s really no excuse for acting like your guests are bothering you, in your way, or messing up your day. The plumbing in our room was poor. Toilet would barely flush and the sink wouldn’t drain at all. Ice machine on our floor was inoperable plus the morning of checkout only one elevator in a 16 floor property was working. This might be tolerable if not for the poor attitudes of the front desk staff and management. They were rude, arrogant, apathetic, and dismissive. You know there’s a problem when a sink can’t be unstopped in over 1.5 hours and still not fixed. On Valentine’s Day my wife had to go to the lobby to use the bathroom because our bathroom was tied up while they tried to fix the sink. I just held it. While she was down there you think the front desk staff tried to make it right? Offered to move us from the 14th to the 1st floor but without any assistance from staff. Simply told her they didn’t have anyone available to help and dismissed her. By then, we had already been there for a day and had made our way to the room without any help. Not only do they not have bell staff, they don’t have enough luggage carts to accommodate the size of the property. It took us 2 trips each to carry our bags in and out, all the while waiting on 1 elevator the day of checkout. I could say more but probably won’t change anything. Suffice it to say our stay was like something out of The Out of Towners and we won’t be returning there ever.
Just got off the phone with Jenny, soooo sweet and nice. I was in a jam with my reservation as it pertains to a bad weather event and my company deciding to move the event to March. She was calm, cool, and collected and not only helped me cancel without penalty but she helped me rebook under our company block with same reservation number! She is a real credit to this location.
Some of the front desk staff were extremely rude, which was quite shocking given that this is not a budget property. I expected a much higher level of professionalism and hospitality. Better-trained staff would go a long way in reflecting the standards of the hospitality industry rather than relying on inexperienced behaviour. Almost every basic amenity—water, Wi-Fi, etc.—is chargeable. While I don’t necessarily have an issue with paid amenities, the lack of transparency is disappointing. These charges are never clearly mentioned; they simply take your credit card details at check-in, and you later discover that your card has been charged for things like water and Wi-Fi without prior notice. That said, the location is excellent, with MARTA just a few blocks away, which is definitely a plus.
This is Marriott Dance Club, Not a Hotel I stayed here for two nights, and both nights were absolutely miserable. They had some sort of party blasting in the ballroom that literally shook the entire building—I could hear every beat on the 9th floor at 10 PM and couldn't sleep! If you don't have appropriate acoustic insulation, you shouldn't be hosting loud parties, period. When I asked the receptionist to turn the music down, she callously told me it would be "going on until 11." What a thoughtful response! I requested to be moved to the 17th floor, and as you can see in the video below, I was "upgraded" to a room with a welcoming ladybug next to a noisy ice machine. Just fantastic. Now let's talk about Marriott's drip pricing strategy—they deserve an award in this field. They're charging me $25/day for parking (not all hotels in the area charge for parking) and another $13-$17 for internet on top of the $424 I'm already paying for just two nights?! This is highway robbery. I understand hotels aren't required to provide internet, but what I don't understand is who gave Marriott the right to automatically charge the card on file for purchases like internet—which is NOT incidental. The definition of "incidental" is attached in the pictures below for your reference. I have the right to choose my payment method and which card I want to use, but Marriott strips that right away by only offering a "Connect" button that automatically charges your card. When I explained all of this to the staff, all I got was the classic corporate response: "We're sorry and will look into it." Utterly useless. I will not be making any future bookings with Marriott or anything owned by Marriott International, including Ritz-Carlton, SpringHill Suites, Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, Aloft, AC Hotels, Moxy, CitizenM, or Autograph Collection properties.
Very nice location.... Room was nice and clean.. Gym was freezing.. ?. Staff was ok. One nice friendly lady on checkout but checking in she was a bit dry... Overall good experience.
I always wondered why this hotel got average reviews on the Marriott Bonvoy app. After staying there this past weekend, I see why. The people at the front desk were nice. The rooms were decent. The front lobby, pool, and gym were amazing. But I got double charged for parking once I was billed a day later. I had to pay $35 just with the ticket that you have to get just to get in and out, then I was billed an extra $50 with the final bill. I will never stay at this hotel ever again.
First, I didn't expect to have to pay $25 a day just to park in their parking lot while staying in the room. Understandable for a conference, but not if you're staying there. Second, I forgot my jacket in the room and now it cannot be found. We called the day we left and was directed to ileftmystuff.com by the manager instead of them simply looking to see if housekeeping turned in the jacket. Now, they're saying they couldn't find it in lost and found only after I had someone go back to the hotel and ask. I left 2 voicemails in the Manager's VM, but no call back, and nothing from the ileftmystuff website. So, triple check your room or what you leave may grow legs and walk out.
We stayed a weekend in September 2025. The room was clean, we were given a high floor as requested. The ice machine worked. The pool was nice, although it didn't connect to the indoor half as I had hoped. There were no bedbugs. The mattresses were very firm, too firm for me but acceptable. The staff were friendly enough. The place didn't smell bad. Good location for what we were doing. The fridge worked, the shower had hot water that worked. My only complaint was the elevators seemed old, and there weren't enough of them for the number of floors. Besides that update, it was a pleasant stay that I would revisit.
This hotel is ok, the staff were really friendly but what I was less thrilled about was: The breakfast was expensive and didn't really feel like good value for the money. I didn't eat another meal there despite being there for a week, mostly as I didn't see anyone else eating in the restaurant. The pool was being refurbished so I couldn't swim all week. The room itself was nice but the AC was super noisy. The room had a great TV (very large) and you could play your own media. The bed was comfortable.
